While ChatGPT is often the first choice for many users looking for an AI chatbot, it’s not the only option available. If you’re interested in exploring alternatives, Claude is a fantastic choice for a variety of projects.

Improved Initial Prompts
ChatGPT sometimes provides initial prompts, particularly when you’re using Custom GPTs. Many users consider these to be one of ChatGPT’s hidden gems. They can inspire new ideas when you’re feeling stuck and often lead to more thoughts and prompts.
However, while ChatGPT excels in offering suggestions for Custom GPTs, its performance in this area isn’t consistent across all conversations. This can be frustrating if you’re seeking mental stimulation from new ideas. In this respect, other tools, like Copilot, tend to outperform ChatGPT.
In contrast, Claude offers a range of prompts at the beginning of each conversation. Notably, it categorizes these prompts, like the intriguing “Claude’s choice,” which presents unique topics such as “Discover a fresh perspective.”
Claude also features a section called “Life stuff,” where you can inquire about morning routines, how to plan celebrations, and more.

Clearer Answers
ChatGPT excels at providing detailed responses. Features like Deep Research are particularly impressive, and even casual exchanges can yield rich information if you prompt it to deliver outline-based answers.

While I appreciate the depth of detail ChatGPT provides, I sometimes find its layout less than ideal. I prefer information presented in a table format, but some answers can appear cluttered, making them challenging to follow.
On the other hand, Claude tends to deliver its responses in a more accessible format. This clarity allows me to grasp the content better, resulting in a smoother experience.

Robust Writing Customization Features
Although ChatGPT excels in various areas, writing isn’t one of them. Its newer models often don’t live up to the expectations set by marketing claims. ChatGPT Canvas is a valuable tool, but its customization options fall short compared to other AI writing tools.
Claude, in contrast, offers impressive writing tools. For instance, you can choose your writing style. Beyond preset options like Concise, Explanatory, and Formal, you have the flexibility to create and modify your own styles. These are a lot more straightforward than similar features in ChatGPT.

Writing with Claude is a breeze, allowing you to select from preset suggestions. The tool also enables content editing and even gives you options to create content calendars and instructional materials.

While I may not personally rely on AI for writing completely, I find Claude to be an excellent tool for brainstorming and outlining ideas. I would often recommend it over ChatGPT.

A More Appealing Interface & Custom Appearance
The ChatGPT interface has certainly improved over time. Features like Projects are particularly useful. However, it still falls short compared to other tools, especially Claude, in terms of customization options.
Aside from Projects, ChatGPT doesn’t offer much variety in interface customization, which has been a persistent annoyance for me. On the contrary, Claude shines in this department.

Although Claude does not have a Projects-like feature (which I believe it should), it excels in interface customization options, such as offering various font choices.
Overall, Claude’s color scheme and design are more visually appealing than those of ChatGPT, which sometimes feels a bit utilitarian. Using Claude is genuinely enjoyable.
2
Integration with GitHub
Coding is one of the main use cases for Claude, and in my opinion, it handles this more efficiently than ChatGPT. With Claude, you can select prompts and code within Claude Artifacts, with the added benefit of seamless GitHub integration.
This integration allows you to connect your repositories directly to the app, making it simple to import the ones you want. This greatly simplifies your coding workflow.

Batch Deletion of Chats
While Projects has indeed helped me tidy up my ChatGPT interface, I’m still frustrated by the lack of a batch-delete option for chats. Deleting individual conversations is tedious, causing many unneeded chats to linger longer than they should.
Batch deletion is a straightforward solution to this issue, which is why I find it disappointing that ChatGPT lacks this feature. Conversely, Claude makes it easy—just check the box next to each chat and click Delete Selected when you’re ready to eliminate them.

Even with its strengths, ChatGPT has some shortcomings compared to Claude. The absence of batch deletion is one issue, but I also wish it offered better prompting and clearer conversation structures.
