On August 15th, the National Speed Skating Oval witnessed a historic milestone in robotics as the first-ever gold medal was awarded in a 1500-meter race for robots. The victorious robot, a familiar face to many, is none other than Yushu H1. During the event, Phoenix Technology had an exclusive interview with the winning team and also spoke directly with Wang Xingxing on site.
Wang Xingxing shared with Phoenix Technology, “The robot that won this time is the same one we showcased during the Spring Festival Gala — an iconic product for us. It’s also our company’s first humanoid robot, which was unveiled in 2023, making this victory especially meaningful.” He also expressed hopes for all participants, stating, “I wish every contestant a great performance.”
This marks H1’s first public appearance since the Spring Festival Gala. Phoenix Tech learned that this competition is the world’s first comprehensive event focused on humanoid robots, featuring 16 countries, 280 teams, and over 500 humanoid robots. The event includes entries from universities, companies, and top international teams. Aside from Yushu’s official participation, many universities and third-party teams chose to compete using Yushu robots.
In this competition, Yushu H1 was the only robot model deployed. According to representatives from a robotics company involved in training the robots, “Yushu H1 is incredibly fast — extremely fast. Based on their performance in trial runs, no one can beat Yushu.” This speed and agility have certainly made H1 a standout in the arena, marking a significant achievement in the evolving field of humanoid robotics.
