On July 3, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun expressed optimism following the successful validation of the company’s self-developed chip, the Xuanjie O1. This development is expected to lead to a significant increase in Xiaomi’s chip production capabilities.
Recent statistics from the second quarter of 2025 reveal that Xiaomi holds 0.6% of the processor market share within the Android ecosystem, just 0.1% behind Samsung. Despite the intense competition, Qualcomm continues to dominate the Android smartphone market, capturing an impressive 73% of the share. MediaTek follows in second place with a notable 25%, highlighting a significant gap between the top two players.
The emergence of Xiaomi on the processor brand distribution chart is particularly noteworthy. Although its current market share stands at only 0.6%, this marks a strong start for a company that relies on a single system-on-chip (SoC), the Xuanjie O1.
Lei Jun is likely pleased with these initial results. The Xuanjie O1, Xiaomi’s first self-developed SoC, is built using TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process and features a ten-core CPU. Official benchmarks indicate that the Xuanjie O1 can achieve scores exceeding 3 million points on the AnTuTu platform.
Meanwhile, development of the next-generation chip, the Xuanjie O2, is already underway. According to previous statements from Lei Jun, this new chip is anticipated to be integrated into upcoming devices.
