Recently, I’ve noticed that my coffee machine has become so advanced that it almost seems smarter than me. It can now automatically grind beans to the perfect consistency, adjust brewing times based on the type of coffee I want, and even remember my preferred settings. While these technological improvements are impressive, they’ve surprisingly created a new challenge for me—I find myself unable to get a decent cup of coffee anymore.
It’s as if the machine has its own ideas about how my coffee should taste. Despite following the instructions and choosing what I think are optimal settings, the results just aren’t as good as before. I’ve spent more time experimenting and adjusting than actually enjoying my morning brew. The more it learns and optimizes, the more unpredictable my coffee has become, leaving me frustrated and longing for the simplicity of my previous, less “smart” machine.
In our quest for convenience and precision, have we inadvertently made our everyday routines more complicated? It seems that in trying to upgrade and personalize, some of the charm and comfort of simple pleasures—like a cup of coffee—are getting lost. For now, I might have to revert to manual brewing or find a way to reclaim the joy of my morning coffee ritual.
