Realme is hinting at an exciting camera feature set to be unveiled at MWC 2025. The company is also adopting the “Ultra” designation for its upcoming smartphone, joining a trend already embraced by brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, and Motorola. The term holds significance, as Realme asserts it will introduce an “ultra-large” sensor.
This camera sensor will be incorporated in a yet-to-be-announced smartphone, which is expected to be merely teased at MWC 2025 rather than fully revealed. It is anticipated that along with the ultra-large sensor — potentially a 1-inch sensor similar to the one found in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra — the phone will include a telephoto camera for optical zoom photography.
According to Realme, extensive testing of the camera has resulted in “unprecedented advancements in portrait photography and low-light performance,” setting a new benchmark for smartphone photography. Of course, they are likely to claim that. The final teaser before the event presents an image of a smartphone casting a shadow, the word “Ultra” displayed boldly beside it, highlighting a strikingly large camera module on one side.

The spotlight on Realme’s new camera feature will be a significant part of its presentation at MWC 2025, alongside the global launch information for the Realme 14 series, which includes the Realme 14 Pro Plus. Announced in 2024, the Realme 14 Pro Plus features a rear panel that changes color according to temperature. When warm, it displays an off-white hue with golden flecks; in cooler conditions, the gold shifts to a frosty blue. It creates a visually striking effect, markedly altering the phone’s appearance, although those in warmer locales might not witness the blue hue frequently.
Realme has scheduled its event for March 3 during Mobile World Congress 2025, taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from March 3 to March 6.
