SurfShark Honest Review: An Expensive Poor Performance VPN

We decided to give SurfShark a try after hearing a lot of positive reviews about this VPN. But we gave it a try, purchased a two-year plan, and the rest was a nightmare!

Honest Review of SurfShark VPN

So, Let’s start with a very honest review of the SurfShark. We used it on our PC (Windows 10), Laptop (Windows 11), and an android phone.

In the starting, it used to be a perfect running VPN. Still, the performance declined quickly within just the first month, which means after passing their 30 days money-back guarantee.

Customer Support:

They offer two types of support Live Chat and Email Support:

  • Live Chat: It has a lot of issues. It removes all your conversations in the middle, and the framework is glitchy. The customer support doesn’t solve any problems.
  • Email Chat: Just pathetic! Their turnaround time is one day! Yes! One day! You have to wait a day to get your things fixed. If you’re using kill switch, you’re gone!

If you face any sort of issues that need to be fixed quickly, then SurfShark is not your friend because it will take a day to send you a pre-made robotic reply.

This is the evidence of the slow email support; (The first email was received on 15th Sept and the second Is on 16th Sept;

And here is the screenshot of what problem we faced during the live chat, while typing it shows “reconnecting” and ends the chat right away.

Connectivity:

  • The connection keeps disconnecting after every 30 minutes; if you want to stick to one location (in our case, we would like to stay connected to Boston, US), it wouldn’t ever give you stable connectivity.
  • The majority of the IP addresses of their locations are blacklisted.
  • SurfShark will give you a tough time if you’re connecting your laptop to a mobile hotspot.

The video shows that SurfShark doesn’t connect to any other locations except Boston;

Streaming Netflix, Disney, or Hulu:

  • Netflix: Surfshark never connects to Netflix. Hardly 2 to 3 locations connect to Netflix.
  • HBO Max: Do not get SurfShark for this as only the Detroit location works for this app.
  • Disney+: I would never recommend it; the connections aren’t suitable for steaming.
  • Hulu: Much better than above, but still not impressive.

Speed:

Speed is much better; we tried every location. The speed is honestly good; as soon as it is connected (rare), you will get a great speed, so there are no issues in that section. However, if you’re torrenting, you won’t get exceptional speed.

Conclusion:

If you’re a business professional or someone who can not work without the internet, we would never recommend SurfShark. Because It will eat up the majority of your time fixing the connection and waiting for their lazy customer support to get back to you.

Unfortunately, we can not get a refund as we have already crossed 30 days of money-back tenure, which was a fairy tale. Still, the moment that period ended, real problems started to appear.
