For a player diving into a game, the initial experience can often feel daunting, especially when they’re entering an MMO with a 12-year history. Warframe has evolved from a simple third-person action title into an intricate world packed with numerous side quests and activities. To enhance the onboarding experience for new recruits, Digital Extremes is actively implementing changes.
The forthcoming major update, named Yareli Prime, is set to release on May 21, followed by the highly anticipated Isleweaver update in June. These updates will introduce vital quality of life improvements, featuring a new option called Arsenal Categories. Given that there are over 50 Warframes available, identifying the optimal one for specific missions can be challenging. Arsenal Categories will classify Warframes into categories such as Damage, Crowd Control, Support, Survival, and Stealth, making it easier for players to recognize their options at a glance.
Digital Extremes emphasizes that every Warframe is capable of handling various situations with the appropriate build. This update is not meant to constrain players to a particular playstyle.

In addition to Arsenal Categories, weapon types will also be categorized to reflect shared core characteristics. This includes divisions for primary, secondary, and melee weapons, helping players better understand the distinctions between various weapon classes, such as rifles, throwable devices, or scythes.
Warframe is filled with so much content that it can be intimidating for newcomers. However, these adjustments aim to simplify initial character decisions and how players want to engage with the game.
When the Isleweave update debuts in June, Junctions—a style of solo mission designed to introduce players to new gameplay mechanics—will receive enhancements. Where previously selecting a Junction would automatically initiate the mission, players will now see a screen displaying available rewards and required tasks. Additionally, rewards can be claimed upon completing Junction tasks rather than waiting until the mission’s end after defeating a boss.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the updates Digital Extremes has in store for Warframe. The team has provided a comprehensive outline of what players can expect in the upcoming months.
