Oracle CloudWorld in Las Vegas and Dubai, UAE – September 12, 2024 – At this year’s Oracle CloudWorld in Las Vegas, the tech titan unveiled an array of AI-driven solutions aimed at revolutionizing enterprise operations, application development, and data insight capabilities, as innovators gather for the company’s most significant event of the year.

Here’s a brief overview of the main announcements, along with links to more detailed press releases:

Oracle Unveils AI-Driven Generative Development Framework for Businesses

With the advanced Oracle Database 23ai technologies, accompanied by AI, developers can concentrate on enhancing application features rather than managing data infrastructure. Oracle’s Autonomous Database, built on Oracle Database 23ai, along with several new enhancements, is now available to facilitate generative development.

Oracle introduced GenDev, an innovative application development framework centered around AI for businesses. This pioneering approach equips developers with cutting-edge technologies to efficiently create sophisticated applications, integrating AI-powered natural language interfaces and user-friendly data management. The GenDev framework leverages Oracle Database 23ai’s features, such as JSON Relational Duality Views, AI Vector Search, and APEX, to streamline generative AI development. By enabling the creation of modular applications and employing declarative languages, this infrastructure automates the scalability, reliability, consistency, and security essential for enterprise applications while enhancing the advantages of AI and addressing potential risks.

Within GenDev, data complexity is managed at the data level, ensuring that application data rules—covering intent, confidentiality, validation, and integrity—are enforced through the data engine. Oracle’s Database 23ai supports an extensive array of data types and workloads, maintaining the required performance, availability, and consistency for enterprises.

“Just as constructing paved roads enhanced the benefits of automobiles, we must evolve the application development framework to fully realize the potential of AI-driven app generation. GenDev empowers developers to leverage AI for the rapid creation of modular, adaptable enterprise applications that are both comprehensible and secure. Users can interact with data and applications using natural language, discovering information based on its semantic context,” explained Juan Loaiza, executive vice president of Mission-Critical Database Technologies at Oracle. “The Oracle Database 23ai supplies the necessary AI-focused foundation to significantly accelerate generative development for enterprise applications.”

Oracle Introduces New AI Features to Expedite Application Development

Oracle Code Assist enters beta to enhance developer efficiency.

Enhancements to OCI Kubernetes Engine enable organizations to train and implement AI models on a large scale.

Oracle revealed new features designed to help users hasten application development and deployment on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Among these is Oracle Code Assist, an AI-driven code companion now available through the Oracle Beta Program, aimed at boosting developer productivity during the software development lifecycle. Furthermore, the new enhancements to OCI Kubernetes Engine (OKE) facilitate the training, deployment, and management of AI workloads on a larger scale.

Offered as a plugin for JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA or Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Oracle Code Assist delivers intelligent suggestions to aid developers in building and refining applications across various programming languages, including Java, Python, JavaScript, SuiteScript, Rust, Ruby, Go, PL/SQL, C#, and C.

“These innovations significantly enhance application development, allowing developers to utilize AI to minimize time spent on routine tasks typical in software development,” noted Sudha Raghavan, senior vice president of Developer Platform at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “Thousands of Oracle engineers are integrating Oracle Code Assist into their daily routines to streamline boilerplate code, conduct unit tests, generate documentation, and resolve coding inquiries.”

Oracle Reveals Intelligent Applications and New AI Features for Fusion Data Intelligence

The People Leader Workbench and Supply Chain Command Center applications are set to aid customers in making informed business decisions more swiftly.

Oracle has announced enhanced AI capabilities for Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, enabling organizations to derive maximum value from their data and maintain a competitive edge in an analytics-oriented market. Recent updates to Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence will introduce new intelligent applications for Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), progressing beyond conventional analytics by suggesting actions to users in critical everyday workflows.

“Merely collecting and analyzing data is the first step; acting on the most advantageous business decisions is the vital subsequent move. Companies often find themselves constrained by data silos, so by the time they make a decision, it may be too late to significantly impact their operations,” stated T.K. Anand, executive vice president of Oracle Analytics. “Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence seeks to rectify this by transforming AI-powered insights into actionable strategies, enabling businesses to respond swiftly to capture emerging opportunities. The new AI features assist organizations in staying ahead of the competition by delivering rapid value through a cohesive view of their organizational data.”

Designed for Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence integrates business data, offering ready-to-use analytics, along with pre-built AI and machine learning models to provide deeper insights and expedite the journey from decision-making to actionable results.
