Rockstar Games has officially taken over Video Games Deluxe, which will soon be rebranded as Rockstar Australia. Located in Sydney, this studio is known for the 2017 remaster of L.A. Noire and more recently contributed to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy.
This development may surprise some, given that the two studios have collaborated for many years, making their partnership a long-standing one. Brendan McNamara, the founder of Video Games Deluxe, expressed his excitement about the transition: “It’s been a privilege to work alongside Rockstar Games over the past decade. We are excited to officially join their ranks and continue to produce exceptional games.”
Rockstar’s acquisition of Video Games Deluxe paves the way for potential new releases within each franchise, although neither team has provided hints about what’s next. While L.A. Noire has garnered a cult following, fans have shown keen interest in a sequel or a similar project.

Currently, the most eagerly awaited title from Rockstar Games is Grand Theft Auto 6, with speculation also swirling around the possibility of Red Dead Redemption 3. While other franchises may see new installments, the likelihood of a return to titles like Bully or Max Payne appears to be quite slim.
When two studios like this unite, especially with a heavy hitter like Rockstar involved, it creates an exciting atmosphere for gamers. The launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 is anticipated this fall, likely around mid-September, bringing players back to the iconic Vice City. PC gamers may need to hold out until 2026 to experience the game; this extended wait should provide them ample time to upgrade their systems, as GTA 6 is expected to demand significant hardware capabilities.
