Save the date! Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are set to debut on July 9, 2025, in New York City. With just 16 days left, the anticipation is building! While the exact availability date remains uncertain, previous launches indicate that pre-orders will likely begin immediately, with sales starting about 10 to 14 days after that.

I’ve previously highlighted the two features I’m most excited about: the Ultra experience and the incredibly slim profile. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is poised to be one of the finest foldable smartphones yet. It’s anticipated to be over three millimeters thinner than its predecessors, marking Samsung’s entry into a new era of ultra-thin devices that will directly compete with the Oppo Find N5 and Honor Magic V5.
Additionally, the Ultra experience is set to introduce the largest main display found on a book-style foldable phone thus far. Samsung is likely to equip this model with a 200MP main camera borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which could signal a significant shift where top-tier smartphone camera technology starts appearing in foldable devices.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 aims to address key concerns noted in earlier models, representing the most significant upgrade to the Fold series since the inaugural Galaxy Fold. This device is expected to set a new standard for Samsung’s foldables. Samsung will also imbue the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with similar features to challenge the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra.
According to circulating rumors and educated speculation, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to sport a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, with RAM options of 12GB or 16GB, and storage capacities ranging from 256GB up to 1TB. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to mirror this processor and could come with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, alongside storage choices between 128GB and 512GB. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 should continue to support an S-Pen on the main interface, similar to previous versions, but it may surprise users by enabling stylus functionality on both displays, following in Oppo’s footsteps.
There’s a lot to look forward to with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. I’m eagerly awaiting the reveal on July 9. For those ready to pre-order, Samsung is offering a pre-reservation option to snag a discount on your order.
