Football Manager 25 Adds Women’s Soccer Visual Updates In November

Football Manager 25 | The New Era | #FM25 Official Announce Trailer

Football Manager 25 is on the horizon! Developer Sports Interactive and publisher Sega Europe announced that the game will debut on November 26 for platforms including Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, and Xbox Game Pass.

Continuing its tradition, the game will also be available on mobile devices, but this time it will be exclusive to Netflix subscribers. Additionally, users can enjoy Football Manager 25 Touch on Nintendo Switch, which is slated for release on December 3.

In celebration of the upcoming launch, a trailer has been released. While it does not showcase gameplay or additional details, the official website has a roadmap that currently remains locked, hinting at several announcements leading up to the game’s release.

One of the major highlights is the inclusion of women’s soccer, marking the first time players can engage in a women’s league. Although Sports Interactive had initially promised to integrate women into the game in 2021, studio director Miles Jacobson mentioned in a 2023 blog post that legal obstacles had delayed this addition.

“The women’s game deserves to be the best it possibly can be when it is released — and the new graphics engine will help deliver that,” Jacobson remarked.

Another significant change for this installment is the adoption of the Unity engine across all versions, except for mobile; that transition will occur later. Players can expect enhanced visuals overall, including “new volumetric player animations derived from actual football matches.” This marks the studio’s first substantial engine update since 2017.

Moreover, the collaboration with the Premier League will feature representation for all 20 clubs within the game.

The team has exciting plans for the franchise well beyond this upcoming release. In a press statement, Jacobson indicated that Football Manager 25 is merely the starting point for the studio’s future endeavors over the next 20 to 30 years. The previous iteration, Football Manager 24, was ultimately recognized as the most complete edition in the series to date.
