ESR has built a reputation for creating affordable yet dependable accessories for Apple devices, with its iPad accessories and charging solutions frequently adorning my workspace over the years.
At CES 2025, ESR unveiled an exciting new product: the Geo Digital Pencil. While it might appear similar to other third-party styluses inspired by the Apple Pencil USB-C model, it features an impressive lost-and-found capability.
The standout aspect of ESR’s Geo Digital Pencil is its integration with Apple’s Find My network, which comes as a surprise given its low price of just $30. Previously, the only stylus offering Find My support was the Apple Pencil Pro, which retails for a steep $129.
The Find My feature is a highlight across Apple’s ecosystem, allowing easy tracking of misplaced or lost devices through its global network.
For reference, the most affordable Apple device with Find My functionality is the AirTag, which is priced similarly to the new ESR stylus. However, this budget-friendly stylus offers much more than just the Find My feature. It supports USB-C charging and can be magnetically attached to the side of an iPad, preventing it from rolling off tables or being misplaced.
Charging the stylus takes only about 30 minutes and provides up to 12 hours of consistent usage. Additional features include tilt sensitivity and palm rejection capabilities.
Additionally, the stylus features a shortcut button that recognizes single and double-tap gestures, a feature I’ve grown fond of since using one of ESR’s earlier stylus models for the 10th-gen iPad.
As for compatibility, the Geo Digital Pencil is designed to work with all iPad models released after 2018, except for the latest base model. Available in white, pink, and black, you can purchase it now on Amazon.
ESR also introduced an intriguing accessory at CES: the HaloLock Classic Hybrid Case designed for the iPhone 16 series. This transparent case supports MagSafe and features a camera bump rail that doubles as a kickstand.
A particularly interesting feature is the cover designed specifically for the Camera Control button. Unlike many protective cases that leave this button exposed, ESR’s design makes accessing the slide gestures easier, even with thicker cases.
The protective cover for the Camera Control includes 9H tempered glass and a PCB core with multiple capacitive layers. This tri-layer design eliminates gaps that could interfere with functionality while keeping dust and debris at bay.
