In an exciting reunion, Brad Pitt and director David Ayer are teaming up once again for the action-adventure film Heart of the Beast, set to be released by Paramount.
According to Deadline, Pitt not only stars in the film but is also producing it through his company, Plan B Entertainment. Ayer will handle the direction and production duties for Heart of the Beast, working from a screenplay penned by Cameron Alexander. Additionally, Academy Award winner Damien Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton are part of the production team, alongside co-producer Richard Raymond.
In this upcoming film, Pitt portrays a former Army Special Forces soldier who must fight for survival alongside his retired combat dog after their plane crashes in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness.

Pitt and Ayer last collaborated on the 2014 film Fury, a World War II drama that follows a group of Allied soldiers on a final mission against the Nazis in their Sherman tank. The film features a talented cast including Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, and Jon Bernthal. Directed by Ayer, Fury was well-received, earning over $211 million worldwide against an $80 million budget.
Since winning an Oscar for his role in 2019’s Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, Pitt has appeared in five films: Ad Astra, The Lost City, Bullet Train, Babylon, and Wolfs. His latest release, Wolfs, showcases a comedic action plot where he stars alongside his close friend George Clooney as two fixers navigating the complications of covering up a major crime. For those interested, Wolfs is currently available to stream on Apple TV+.

Looking ahead, Pitt’s next project is F1, a summer blockbuster from Apple that tells the story of a former Formula One driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a rookie (played by Damson Idris) on the Apex Grand Prix team. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on Top Gun: Maverick, and is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025.
Ayer’s most recent film was The Beekeeper, released in 2024 and starring Jason Statham in an action-packed thriller. The film exceeded expectations at the box office, generating $153 million against its $40 million budget.
