It’s well-known that at Digital Trends, we have a fondness for Astro Bot—it’s no coincidence that it earned the title of our 2024 Game of the Year. Excitingly, this charming platformer is set to introduce five new levels, new Special Bots, and enhanced performance for those using PlayStation 5 Pro. New content will become available weekly, with the first level launching today. If you tuned in for the PlayStation XP Tournament Final, you might have caught a sneak peek of this week’s level. Named Tick-Tock Shock, it is available starting February 13, with subsequent levels released each Thursday. Here’s the detailed rollout schedule:
- February 13: Tick-Tock Shock
- February 20: Thrust or Bust
- February 27: Cock-A-Doodle-Doom
- March 6: Hard to Bear
- March 13: Armored Hardcore
The updates are expected to become live every Thursday at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT.
Every new level will include a unique Special Bot for players to rescue. After completing a level, you can challenge yourself in a Time Attack mode and see how your scores stack up against others on an online leaderboard. However, you will need to finish the main game first to access this feature, so ensure your skills are sharp.
For players enjoying the game on the PlayStation 5 Pro, there’s an added bonus: higher resolution graphics locked at a smooth 60 frames per second. Given the game already looks fantastic, this performance upgrade will make for an even more immersive and enjoyable experience, free from any hiccups.
