WhatsApp to Introduce Draft Message Search Feature
WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to easily search for draft messages using a designated chat list, set to roll out in a future update.
This feature is included in the WhatsApp beta version for Android 2.25.18.17, which lets users access a dedicated list of all chats containing draft messages, according to a report from WABetaInfo.
A draft message is any text that a user has composed in a chat but hasn’t sent yet. These messages will be highlighted in green within the chat list, making them easy to spot. Users typically encounter drafts when they start writing a message but choose to send it later.
Currently, users have to scroll through their entire chat list to locate conversations with draft messages, which can be tedious—especially for those who participate in many chats.
To make this process more efficient, the popular messaging app, owned by Meta, is introducing a filter that automatically displays all chats with unread drafts.
Enhancing User Experience
This new feature will be especially beneficial for users who frequently write messages across various conversations and leave them pending.
By selecting the "Drafts" filter, users will instantly access a curated list of all chats featuring unsent messages. This tool aims to prevent important messages from slipping through the cracks due to distractions or busy schedules.
Easy to Use and Configure
It’s worth noting that the new filter will be preset, so users won’t need to do any manual setup once the feature is available. If there are any existing draft messages, the filter will automatically activate.
Additionally, users can disable the draft filter at any time if they don’t find it useful, and reactivate it later if their preferences change.
The draft message chat list feature is currently in development and is expected to be available in an upcoming update.
