In a surprising and honest acknowledgment, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy stated that Pakistan successfully downed five Indian Air Force jets during a recent confrontation.
In a recent interview, Swamy explained that the Indian aircraft were overpowered in aerial combat due to Pakistan employing Chinese fighter jets that outperformed New Delhi’s French-made aircraft.
“Pakistan managed to shoot down five of our aircraft. They utilized Chinese jets to accomplish this, while ours were French-made,” Swamy stated. “Though the Chinese jets were effective, our French ones didn’t meet our expectations. The Rafale jets are not suitable for India’s requirements,” he criticized.
Furthermore, he made strong allegations regarding corruption tied to the contentious Rafale deal, suggesting that it would go uninvestigated as long as Modi remains Prime Minister. “There was corruption in the Rafale deal that won’t see any investigation while Modi is in power,” he asserted.
On the issue of accountability within the Indian administration, Swamy noted that under the current leadership, a transparent investigation into the loss of the aircraft seems improbable. “With Modi at the helm, discussions or inquiries surrounding how and why those jets were shot down are unlikely,” he remarked.
