Upgrading your PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11 can seem like a daunting task, especially if your device doesn’t quite meet Microsoft’s minimum requirements. However, with the right approach, you can achieve this easily. Here’s a straightforward guide on how to successfully perform an in-place upgrade while ensuring your system stays supported for future updates.

First, make sure you’re satisfied with your current setup. If that’s the case, let’s get started with the upgrade process.

  1. Watch the Guide: To simplify your upgrade experience, I recommend watching this video tutorial that outlines the entire process: How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD). This method is user-friendly and has proven effective based on my personal experience over the last few years.

  2. Download the ISO File: Next, you will need to obtain the Windows 11 24H2 ISO file. This file will be essential for the upgrade. You can easily download the ISO from the official Microsoft website: Download Windows 11.

  3. Get 7-Zip: To manage the downloaded ISO file efficiently, it’s useful to have a file utility program like 7-Zip. You can download it for free by visiting 7-Zip. Make sure to choose the version that matches your system’s architecture (the first option for 64-bit systems).

  4. Upgrade Procedure: Follow the steps in the video to perform the upgrade. Keep in mind that if your PC doesn’t meet the hardware requirements set by Microsoft, you may need to repeat this process with each new Windows 11 build when they are released, typically in October each year. This may feel like a hassle, but rest assured that your system will still receive monthly updates and support until October 2025.

  5. Rollback Option: Should you encounter any issues with Windows 11, you have the option to roll back to Windows 10. Make sure not to delete the Windows.old folder or the upgrade files, as this allows you to revert to your previous operating system within 10 days. For guidance on how to perform a rollback, check out this tutorial: How to Go Back to Windows 10 from Windows 11.

In conclusion, upgrading to Windows 11 doesn’t have to be a complicated process. With the right tools and guidance, you can enhance your PC’s operating system while still maintaining access to updates and support. Happy upgrading!
