If you want to use Apple’s AI features, like Siri, in Dutch on your Mac, but you’re running the latest version of macOS and primarily have your system set to English with the region set to the Netherlands, you might find it tricky to get everything working smoothly. Here’s a simple guide to help you set up Siri and other AI features in Dutch:
First, check your language settings. Go to System Preferences > Language & Region. Make sure Dutch is added as a preferred language. If it isn’t, click the plus (+) button, select Dutch, and add it.
Next, set your preferred language for Siri. Open System Preferences, then click on Siri. In the Language menu, select Dutch. This will make Siri respond and understand in Dutch.
Although your system language might be set to English, having Dutch added and selected for Siri should enable Siri to operate in Dutch. Sometimes, simply changing the Siri language isn’t enough because the system’s primary language affects AI behavior.
If switching from English (US) to English (UK) didn’t work, try the following:
1. Remove English from your preferred languages in System Preferences to avoid conflicts.
2. Make sure Dutch is at the top of your language list for your Mac.
3. Restart your Mac to ensure all settings update correctly.
Keep in mind, some features or AI responses might still be limited in certain languages depending on Apple’s updates and support. But generally, setting Dutch as your primary language and selecting it specifically for Siri should help you get AI working in Dutch on your Mac.
If you still have trouble, consider checking Apple’s support pages or forums, as updates and regional settings sometimes influence how well language-specific features work.
