If you’re facing issues with your network adapter on Windows 10, you’re not alone. Many users encounter a problem where the network adapter is missing, or it shows a code error 45. Luckily, there’s a straightforward solution that worked for others, and it might work for you too.

First, let’s break down the steps you need to take:

  1. Check Device Manager: Begin by opening the Device Manager. You can do this by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting Device Manager from the list. Look for the “Network adapters” section. If you see your adapter listed but marked with a yellow exclamation mark, that’s a sign of trouble.

  2. Uninstall the Existing Driver: Right-click on the network adapter and choose “Uninstall device.” Confirm any prompts that appear. This step removes the problem driver, allowing for a fresh installation.

  3. Download the Correct Driver: You’ll need to reinstall the correct driver. If you have a specific link to the driver that works, use that. Otherwise, you can often find compatible drivers on the manufacturer’s website.

  4. Install the New Driver: Once you have the driver downloaded, run the installer. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation process.

  5. Restart Your Laptop: After the installation is finished, restart your laptop. This is a crucial step as it allows the system to recognize the changes made.

  6. Repeat the Restart: If the adapter doesn’t show up immediately, try restarting your laptop two or three more times. Sometimes, it may take a couple of attempts for the system to detect the network adapter.

  7. Fix the Exclamation Mark: Return to the Device Manager. If you see the yellow exclamation mark on your network adapter, right-click on it and select “Update driver.” Follow the prompts to complete the update.

  8. Test Your Connection: Once everything is updated and running, check your internet connection to ensure everything is working properly.

If you follow these steps, you should be able to resolve your network adapter issue. This method has proven effective for many users on Windows 10. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or need more assistance!
