If you’ve ever felt frustrated trying to copy code or text from the web, you’re not alone. Sometimes, the copy button doesn’t work, or the website’s formatting makes it hard to highlight the content you want. Luckily, there’s a simple way to solve this problem and copy anything easily and quickly.
Whenever you encounter a website or a page where copying doesn’t seem to work, you can do this:
- Click and drag your mouse to highlight the section of text or code you want to copy.
- Once it’s highlighted, right-click on the selected area.
- Choose ‘Copy’ from the menu that appears.
If right-click doesn’t work or is disabled, you can use keyboard shortcuts:
- On Windows: press Ctrl + C
- On Mac: press Command + C
This method works well whether the copy button is unresponsive or not present. Now, you’ve saved yourself from the hassle of clicking endlessly or trying to find the right button. After copying, you can paste the content where you need it, like in a document, your notes, or an email, by right-clicking and selecting ‘Paste,’ or by using the shortcuts:
- On Windows: Ctrl + V
- On Mac: Command + V
Remember, if you’re copying code or text from a website, always double-check that all the content has been copied properly before using it. This quick trick makes copying easier and ensures you don’t miss anything important.
