Hi there,
If you’re trying to install Windows 11 on a different drive but can’t access the BIOS or Start menu during boot, it can be frustrating. Many computers have a feature called Secure Boot that automatically starts Windows without giving you a chance to enter setup options.
To fix this and get into the BIOS, follow these simple steps:
First, turn off your computer completely. Then, turn it back on and immediately press the key to access your BIOS or boot menu. Common keys are F2, F10, F12, ESC, or DEL. If these don’t work, try pressing them repeatedly right after you power on.
If your computer still boots straight into Windows, it might be enabled with Secure Boot, which overrides manual access to the BIOS. To disable Secure Boot, you’ll need to get into the BIOS settings:
1. Power off your computer.
2. Turn it back on, and repeatedly press the key to open BIOS settings (often ESC, DEL, F2, or F10).
3. Once in BIOS, look for a tab called “Boot” or “Security.”
4. Find the Secure Boot option and set it to “Disabled.”
5. Save your changes and exit BIOS.
Now, restart your computer. It should give you the chance to enter the BIOS or boot menu during startup. From there, you can select the drive where you want to install Windows 11.
Keep in mind that some computers are set up differently, so if these steps don’t work, consult your device’s manual or manufacturer’s website for specific instructions. Good luck with your installation!
