Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a long game. If you thought you finished it after the main story, think again. There’s still plenty to do after the credits roll. Whether your goal is to become the top trainer or complete your Pokédex, the story continues beyond the initial ending.
Legendaries are only available after the game’s story, which means you’ll need to work a bit to find Pokémon like Zygarde and others. AZ’s Floette is also a post-game exclusive, along with some rare Pokémon you might not expect. Spending a few extra hours after the credits can be very rewarding.
Free Lucario
When you start the post-game, check your hotel room’s table. You should find a Poké Ball with a Level 50 Lucario and a letter from AZ. This Lucario has the OT name: Korrina, hinting it’s the same Pokémon that partnered with the Fighting-type Gym Leader from X and Y, or is related. AZ asks you to show this Lucario to Korrina, but she hasn’t been located in the post-game yet. We’ll update if she is found; she might appear in future DLC.
The Infinite Royale
After giving your wish to President Jet, you can start the Infinite Royale daily. Instead of one Battle Zone, there will be two, which gives you more options for earning points. Accumulating 50,000 points earns you a Challenger’s Ticket and access to a Reward Match. These matches give rare items like vitamins, EXP candies, and bottle caps. After completing 15 matches, you’ll receive AZ’s Floette.
Each match is scaled like the original Z-A Battle Royale. For instance, Zach the Taxi Driver returns as your first opponent with Level 10 Pokémon.
Wild Area 20
In the post-game, Prism Tower transforms into a unique Wild Area. It’s a great spot to find starters you didn’t choose and rare evolved Pokémon like Lucario, Gardevoir, and Malamar. Daily, two Alpha Pokémon appear beneath Prism Tower. These are always rare, fully evolved, and strong. Encounters include Pokémon such as Dedenne, Glaceon, Skarmory, Dragonite, Goodra, and Scolipede.
Catch Legendary Pokémon: Epilogue Mission
After your first Reward Match in Infinite Royale, Lida calls you. Return to Hotel Z, where you’ll receive missions to catch certain Legendary Pokémon:
- Xerneas: Defeat or catch three specific Alpha Pokémon
- Yveltal: Beat three Rogue Mega Evolution rematches
- Zygarde: Defeat the final boss and then Zygarde in Mega Evolution battle
Rogue Mega Evolution Rematches
You can challenge former Rogue Mega Evolutions at Quasartico Inc., near Vinnie at the front desk. These Level 70 Pokémon include Mega Tyranitar, Mega Gyarados, and more. These fights are one-on-one and require a fair fight, as they won’t be assisted by Team MZ members. Be warned—spoilers ahead! You can rematch Mega Tyranitar with Mega Meganium.
Secret Final Boss Battle
Once you begin the challenge for Xerneas and Yveltal, you unlock fights against old Rogue Mega Evolutions. These battles happen at Quasartico Inc. and are against Level 70 Mega Pokémon. The battles must be fought fairly; no team member assistance is allowed.
The ultimate challenge is a hidden final boss fight, which is tougher and requires strategy. You will face Lysandre (“L”) before catching Zygarde, with his team full of strong Pokémon like Pyroar, Florges, Sableye, Garbodor, Noivern, and Mega Gyarados, all at Levels 78-80.
Wrapping Things Up
Many side missions remain unavailable until after the main story. Completing these post-game missions often rewards unique Pokémon and rare items like the Light Ball or Alolan Pokémon such as Alolan Raichu. While you won’t get a trophy for completing all side missions, each one offers valuable rewards.
Additionally, it’s worth taking time to finish Mable’s Research Quests. Doing so grants the Shiny Charm, which significantly boosts your chances of finding shiny Pokémon. You can trade shiny Pokémon through Pokémon HOME, but note that these cannot be transferred back into previous Pokémon games.
