When is the release date for this new alien shooter?
According to IGN’s May cover story, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is set to launch on PC and consoles in Summer 2026, though a specific date has not yet been announced. The trailer opens with a radio transmission from Dr. Lily Pierce from planet LV-558, the game’s main location. It offers brief glimpses of gameplay—featuring explosions, firearms, new gadgets, and plenty of aliens to blast.
Daybreak Games has confirmed that the game will support full crossplay across PC and consoles. A new playable class, called the Specialist, allows players to combine abilities from existing classes for a customized experience. At launch, the game will include a Horde mode with its own maps, where players can earn valuable rewards by surviving wave after wave of enemies.
The first Fireteam Elite was a standalone sequel set after the original Alien trilogy, following Colonial Marines aboard the USS Endeavor as they were sent to eliminate the dangerous Xenomorphs on planet LV-895. After its 2021 release, the original game continued to receive updates—adding new maps, classes, skins, and even a port to Nintendo Switch. However, it remains unconfirmed whether the sequel will also appear on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is currently in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
