The Sword of Milos is a powerful greatsword crafted from the spine of a deformed giant. This weapon, which caters to both Strength and Dexterity builds, is favored by the Dung Eater in the game Elden Ring. To acquire this nightmarish blade, you must first defeat the Dung Eater in a duel.
In this guide, we’ll outline the quickest way for you to obtain the Sword of Milos and share tips on how to do so without disrupting a critical questline.
Location of the Sword of Milos
To claim the Sword of Milos, you must first defeat the Dung Eater. You can locate him in a room adjacent to the Twin Maiden Husks within the Roundtable Hold, but this area only becomes accessible after you reach the Altus Plateau.
Initiate the Dung Eater’s questline by interacting with him. After providing him with a Seedbed Curse, he will give you the Sewer-Gull Key. Navigate to Leyndell, also referred to as the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, to find his phantom there.
After you have freed him, you will face a choice: let him go or eliminate him. If you decide to defeat the Dung Eater, he will drop the Sword of Milos. Choosing to spare him will allow you to continue his questline, which is recommended if you want to see his story unfold.
Return to the Roundtable Hold and read the message he left behind. Then, meet him at the Outer Moat near the Royal capital, Leyndell. Once you engage with Blackguard Big Boggart, the Dung Eater will invade you.
Defeating his phantom will grant you the Sword of Milos. After this battle, you can safely pursue his questline for a different ending in the game.
