Diablo 4 has kicked off Season 7, introducing several exciting changes, including the new Witchcraft Power system. This feature enables players to equip up to six Witch Powers simultaneously, all of which can be enhanced for greater strength. If you participated in the Season of Blood, you’ll recognize some similarities to the Vampiric Powers you previously had. However, this time you’re limited to six powers at once, but acquiring and upgrading them is fairly straightforward.
Each season in Diablo 4 requires you to create a new character, starting from Level 1. However, there are unique methods available in the seasons that allow for character improvements, which aren’t accessible in standard play. You can also earn exclusive rewards by completing missions and progressing through the seasonal storyline. For the Season of Witchcraft, you’ll need to gather Restless Rot and Grim Favors to boost your power and unlock your Witchcraft Powers. Fortunately, the main campaign quests will guide you through this process.

How To Unlock Lost Witchcraft Powers In Diablo 4’s Season 7
Investigating The Rot
To gain access to Witchcraft Powers, you’ll need to tackle several quests that open the Season 7 campaign. Start by talking to Gelena in Gea Kul, who can be found near the Waypoint. After a brief dialogue, you’ll be able to dive into the seasonal campaign. Your initial tasks will require you to track down the source of the rot, locate a head, and then join Gelena as you head to the Tree of Whispers.
These missions will familiarize you with Coven’s Favor, rewards that you can earn by enhancing your reputation through world quests. Additionally, you’ll find altars located by the Tree of Whispers, which include the Altar of the Eldritch, Altar of the Psyche, Altar of Growth, and the Forgotten Altar. Each altar grants powers associated with its name, with the Forgotten Altar providing Lost Powers. The altars for Eldritch, Psyche, and Growth abilities are all situated at the Tree of Whispers.
Obtaining Lost Powers is a bit trickier, as Forgotten Altars are only found within dungeons. The spawning of these altars is random, making them time-consuming to acquire. Fortunately, you can continue collecting Restless Rot, which you can use to purchase desired powers once you locate an altar. Restless Rot serves as the currency for all Witchcraft Powers and can be earned by completing Headhunts and defeating Headrotten enemies, who may drop it as loot.
Keep in mind that not all Witchcraft Powers will be available at each altar from the start. You’ll need to unlock them by raising your reputation with the Coven and claiming rewards from the Coven’s Favor board located near the Tree of Whispers.
In addition to new powers, you’ll also receive rewards such as gear, crafting materials, and currencies like Restless Rot. Therefore, engaging in Headhunts is beneficial, and seasonal world quests can be spotted on your map marked with a leaf icon.
How To Upgrade Lost Witchcraft Powers
Increase Your Power
Upgrading your Witchcraft Powers is generally simpler than unlocking them, especially when it comes to the Lost Powers. You don’t need to visit an altar to upgrade powers you’ve already obtained. Instead, just open your inventory, navigate to the Witchcraft tab, select the power you want to enhance, and spend the Restless Rot indicated in the corner to boost your power. This section is also where you can equip and swap your Witchcraft Powers, allowing you to use up to six at the same time.
As you complete the Season of Witchcraft campaign quests and continue working on seasonal world quests, you’ll be able to unlock most of the available powers. The real challenge is diving into dungeons in hope of discovering a Forgotten Altar where you can acquire the Lost Powers. While there’s little you can do to increase the odds of these altars appearing, you’ll notice that clearing dungeons becomes easier with the Witchcraft Powers gained from the three altars at the Tree of Whispers in Diablo 4.
