In Disney Dreamlight Valley, there’s plenty to keep you busy as you work to revive the village that was left in disarray during the Forgetting. After you’ve wrapped up the main storyline, you can venture into Storybook Vale to discover new characters and experiences. The future is bright as long as you can soothe the tempers of the Mistress of All Evil and the Lord of the Underworld.
The Fallen Fortress is packed with mysteries, but gaining entry isn’t straightforward. We’ll guide you on how to prove your knightly worth and lower the drawbridge to embark on the Fairy Tale Trial.
Unlocking the Fallen Fortress
To unlock the Fallen Fortress, head to the far western area of Everafter. Climb the small hill leading up to the massive wall of ink and interact with it. Merida will show up and offer to help you clear it away using 5,000 Storybook Magic.
Once you’ve removed the ink, you can enter the Fallen Fortress, and the quest will kick off right away, giving you just a hint of what to do next: explore.
Continue deeper into the area along the western edge, where you’ll be able to find the ruins of a fortress with a raised drawbridge and a puzzling clue about how to lower it. The only one who might have further insights is Flynn Rider, so make sure to visit him.
Crafting the Fairytale Armor
When you chat with Flynn, he’ll divulge everything he knows regarding the drawbridge and the remains of the fortress. To prove your knighthood and lower the bridge, you’ll need a suit of armor. Flynn will hand you a sketch he created, and your next task will be to gather the necessary materials.
Don’t forget to open the sketch in your inventory to view the crafting recipe!
To craft the armor, gather the following items:
- Five iron ingots
- Three white roses
- Two opals
- Two star sapphires
After you’ve collected everything, head to a Crafting Station and assemble the armor. Make sure to return to Flynn to show him your creation.
Lowering the Drawbridge
Just having the armor isn’t enough. You’ll need a bit more. Firstly, persuade Flynn to become your squire. This should be easy since he’s already committed to assist you. Next, complete a challenge worthy of a true knight: tame a dragon!
Feed the baby dragons in Everafter until you make one your companion. This could take a few days if you’re just starting out, so hang in there. Fortunately, taming a dragon is an optional task if you’re looking to move quickly.
Simply put on the armor and invite Flynn to hang out with you. After that, race back to the drawbridge to lower it now that you’ve proved yourself as a true knight! Cross over and use your Royal Net to interact with the spinning wheel and open the portal to the Fairy Tale Trial.
