In Mecha Break, the term “mods” doesn’t mean cheats or modifications to the game. Instead, it refers to a system of upgrades you can install on your mech. These mods come in various forms, allowing you to enhance certain stats of your Striker while often compromising others. This means they are most effective when you have a specific build or strategy in mind. For example, a mod might lower your maximum energy but boost its regeneration rate, which could work well for some setups but not for others.
To help you grasp how mods function in Mecha Break, I’ll explain their mechanics and how to acquire them. After all, customizing your giant robot in the hangar is half the fun!
How do mods in Mecha Break work?
In Mecha Break, mods are upgrades you can install on any Striker to modify its stats. Each mod can change your mech’s characteristics in unique ways, usually providing both advantages and drawbacks. It’s advisable to approach modding with a clear plan or strategy, as random changes might weaken your mech’s performance.
Keep in mind that mods only function in the Mecha Break Mashmak mode, at least for now. They aren’t applicable in standard multiplayer matches.
How to get mods in Mecha Break
You can earn mods by playing the Mashmak mode in Mecha Break. As you progress, you may receive random rewards that include Mod Boxes of varying rarities. These rarities, from lowest to highest, are:
- Fine (Green)
- Superb (Blue)
- Rare (Purple)
- Flawless (Gold)
After obtaining a mod box, you’ll need to extract successfully with it in your cargo. Head back to the main menu to find the Mod Boxes in your inventory. Click on them to open and claim a random mod based on their rarity.
You can also visit the “Mods” section within the Operation Storm tab (or Mashmak mode). Here, you can fuse mods together using the “Mod Assembly System,” along with Matrix credits. This process requires sacrificing 10 mods of the same rarity to create one mod of a higher tier (for instance, you can use 10 Fine Mods to obtain 1 Superb Mod).
Moreover, mods may be available for purchase in the Marketplace, or they could be distributed in the future through Mecha Break codes.
How to install mods in Mecha Break
To install mods in your mech, navigate to the Mods section within the Operation Storm tab. Different types of mods must be placed in specific sections of your mech, and there are limited slots available. So feel free to experiment and mix mods to discover the most effective setups.
