Since a few months after its release, Wuthering Waves has made impressive strides in both gameplay and character design. The new characters are much more visually appealing and dynamic than those introduced at the game’s start.
One standout character is Roccia, the second character from the Rinascita region. She is a five-star Havoc unit wielding Gauntlets, and properly equipping her is essential to tapping into her full potential.
Top Weapons for Roccia
Unfortunately, Wuthering Waves has a serious shortage of decent weapons for most characters unless they have their signature ones, and Roccia is no exception. Still, you have several options to suit different requirements:
Tragicomedy |
Roccia’s signature weapon is her best option as it provides a significant Crit Rate boost, extra ATK, and a substantial increase in Heavy Attack DMG. |
---|---|
Marcato |
As a solid four-star alternative, Marcato offers Energy Regen and Concerto Energy, allowing for quicker character swaps. However, you’ll need to count on high Crit Rate from her echoes with this weapon. |
Stonard |
If you opt for the battle pass, Stonard can provide Crit Rate. But the liberation damage bonus is not helpful as her liberation acts as a heavy attack. |
Celestial Spiral |
This weapon is a good option to boost Roccia’s damage by enhancing her overall attack power. |
Gauntlets of Night |
If you lack the previous options, Gauntlets of Night is a commendable three-star choice that provides a decent ATK boost after using her Intro Skill. |
Roccia Echo Guide
To effectively build Roccia’s echoes in Wuthering Waves, you should first select the best set for optimal bonuses, then choose her primary echo and stats. The primary echoes complement her abilities during combat:
Best Echo Sets for Roccia
Midnight Veil |
This is Roccia’s top echo set, enhancing her Havoc DMG while also amplifying the Havoc DMG for the resonator she switches to after her outro. |
---|---|
Moonlit Clouds |
If you haven’t accessed the above set yet, this one provides general buffs and is beneficial if Roccia is paired with a non-Havoc main DPS. |
Top Primary Echoes for Roccia
Echo Name |
Set Name |
Reason |
---|---|---|
Nightmare: Impermanence Heron |
Midnight Veil |
This echo not only deals extra damage but also boosts Roccia’s Havoc and Heavy Attack DMG, making it ideal for her. |
Impermanence Heron |
Moonlit Clouds |
This echo provides extra energy upon hitting enemies while also increasing ATK for the resonator to which you switch. |
Ideal Echo Stats for Roccia
4-Cost |
Crit Rate |
---|---|
3-Cost |
Havoc DMG Bonus > Energy Regen |
1-Cost |
ATK Percent |
A 4-3-3-1-1 echo setup is recommended for Roccia, but if you use a weapon without Crit Rate as the main stat, consider a 4-4-1-1-1 setup instead.
For her sub-stats, focus on maximizing Crit Rate, Heavy Attack DMG Bonus, Energy Regen, and ATK.
Best Team Compositions for Roccia
Given the character roster limitations in Wuthering Waves and Roccia’s specialized support role, there aren’t many optimal team setups for her. However, there’s one ideal team composition if you have the right characters, though you’ll need to make adjustments if you don’t:
Team Members |
Description |
---|---|
Roccia, Camellya, Shorekeeper |
Camellya relies on Havoc and Basic Attack for damage, the two attributes buffed by Roccia’s outro skill. This creates a strong synergy with Shorekeeper serving as an additional buffer. |
Havoc Rover/Danjin, Roccia, Baizhi |
Havoc Rover and Danjin mainly deal Heavy Damage, which Roccia doesn’t buff. Nonetheless, they can benefit from the Havoc DMG bonus if a better supportive option isn’t available. Baizhi acts as a free-to-play friendly support and sustainer but can easily be replaced with Verina or Shorekeeper in these compositions. |
Overview of Roccia’s Traces and Priority
Though many characters in Wuthering Waves come with complex kits, Roccia is straightforward to understand. Here’s a brief overview of her abilities:
- Her skills gather enemies together while granting her 100 Imagination, sufficient for filling one bar on her Forte. She can also gain Imagination via her Intro Skill or by charging her Heavy Attack.
- Utilizing her Skill or landing a hit with her Heavy Attack allows her to enter a special state where she can execute enhanced plunge attacks, each using 100 Imagination.
- Performing her Skill or the boosted plunge attacks generates a lot of energy for her. While her Ultimate damages nearby enemies, it primarily boosts the ATK of all resonators in your party.
Ideally, you want to minimize Roccia’s battlefield presence. You can do this by using her Intro Skill, Basic Attack, and Skill in succession to build up Imagination, trigger the special state, and perform three plunge attacks. Afterward, activate her Liberation and switch characters using the outro skill.
If your intent is to use Roccia solely for her buffs, you don’t need to upgrade her abilities, as they all serve to enhance damage. However, for endgame content, additional damage can be vital. In such cases, focus on upgrading her Forte Circuit, Skill, Liberation, and Intro Skill in that order.
It’s acceptable to leave her Basic Attack as it won’t see much use in her role.
