If you’re looking to dive into the meta with an exciting new deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket, consider trying the Greninja and Weezing duo. This combination is great for players who struggle to keep Pokémon on the bench, as it can absorb damage while steadily depleting your opponent’s health. It’s particularly effective against dominant psychic-type decks like Mewtwo EX and can handle most other decks that lack a clear advantage.
With new cards about to be added to Pokémon TCG Pocket, now’s the perfect time to tweak and explore different strategies. This Greninja and Weezing combo should serve you well until the next expansion drops. Although it has some vulnerabilities, it’s a solid and resilient choice when it matters most.

Greninja and Weezing Deck Cards List
Best Cards to Use & Possible Substitutes
The popular deck featuring Greninja and Weezing often revolves around these two Pokémon and their evolution lines. To complete the standard 10-card setup, you’ll see many Support cards, primarily featuring Koga and Sabrina. While there are other options available, these two are generally seen as the most impactful.
During my testing, I discovered a slightly different combination that worked extremely well for me, leading me to explore various alternative cards.

If you lack any of those suggestions, you could opt for any available Water-type Pokémon or potentially choose another Dark-type Pokémon based on your collection.
Best Strategy to Win with a Greninja and Weezing Deck
Staying Alive & Keeping Enemies at Bay
The core strategy of this deck is to keep Greninja on the bench while dealing decent damage with Weezing, all while keeping your opponent poisoned. If you happen to lose your Weezing, Articuno can step in to deliver strong hits and potentially paralyze your opponent if you get lucky.
This deck focuses on survivability. Support cards like Sabrina allow you to retrieve Pokémon from the active position to heal them, while Koga lets you bring cards back to your hand to use again. This creates a beneficial cycle if maintained. Including a copy of Misty can help you load Articuno with energy, and though Articuno has an EX version, I prefer the standard one for the paralysis chance.
Misty can be a bit unpredictable, so I recommend having just one copy in the deck. You can easily swap her out for another Potion or an extra Sabrina.
In Pokémon TCG Pocket, this deck struggles against Electric and Ground-type Pokémon but holds its ground well in most other matchups. I managed to face a Ground-type using my available cards, which had a number of swaps, and still came out on top. Pikachu is likely your biggest concern.
One challenge you may face is that it can be slow to set up Greninja if you need to evolve all three stages. However, leveraging Misty with Articuno can buy you some time. As you navigate the complexities of the deck, practicing to perfect your strategy is essential. A solid Tentacruel can also inflict status damage on your opponents, so keep that option in mind for replacements if needed.
Once you become familiar with handling this deck, you’ll find that it meets your needs effectively. While aggro decks can pose a challenge, you can mitigate this risk with your card manipulation techniques. With dedication, you can build the ultimate Greninja and Weezing deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket as you collect more cards.
