The legendary FAL returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Rebranded as the TR2 in this version, this marksman rifle sacrifices sheer power for a rapid fire rate, allowing players to take down enemies in three shots if aimed at the torso. Aiming for the head can drop foes in just two shots. The TR2 rewards precision, making it an excellent choice for engagements at medium range.
However, like all weapons in Black Ops 6, optimizing the TR2 requires the right configuration. In this guide, we’ll explore two potent setups for the TR2 that excel in both core Multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Although the TR2 is designated as a marksman rifle, it’s more effective when used like a semi-auto assault rifle, such as the Goblin Mk.2. Prioritize attachments that reduce recoil and enhance Aim Down Sights (ADS) speed for optimal performance at medium range since its default recoil can be challenging to manage at distance.
Utilizing the Compensator, Ranger Foregrip, and Recoil Springs will virtually eliminate recoil, making it possible to fire rapidly. A 3x magnification scope is highly recommended for more effective medium-range engagement. We suggest the Willis x3 scope, but feel free to choose any suitable optic.
Once you attach a Quickdraw Grip, you’ll fill your slots, so consider using the Gunfighter Wildcard to maximize loadout efficiency. The Extended Mag I provides a 30-round magazine with manageable reload penalties, while the Target Laser addresses idle sway and a Long Barrel enhances performance at greater distances.
Recommended Loadouts

---|---|
Specialty | Strategist |
Column One | Flak Jacket |
Column Two | Fast Hands |
Column Three | Guardian |

Wildcard | Gunfighter |
Lethal | Your Choice |
Tactical | Stim |
Field Upgrade | Trophy Systems |
You can tailor your perks for the TR2 based on personal preference, as it functions well as a dueling weapon without needing specific perks. We suggest Strategist to enhance your range against targets. Alternatively, you could choose to focus on calling in killstreaks by using Dispatcher instead of Fast Hands, but we recommend sticking with Fast Hands for a strong synergy with the Sirin 9mm for close-quarters combat.

The same configuration used in Multiplayer is also effective for Zombies since the weapon can become hard to control with erratic recoil when Pack-A-Punched to a burst fire version. The primary change is replacing Recoil Springs with Rapid Fire to enhance burst speed after the weapon is upgraded. If the recoil proves too difficult to manage, feel free to revert to Recoil Springs.
