As you dive into the expansive realm of Avowed, you’ll quickly notice its rich medieval atmosphere, infused with elements of magic and animancy. Other than your magic wand, most weapons available in the game will be some form of sword or handgun, which require reloading after each use.
Another feature reminiscent of the medieval times is the bounty system, which appears in Avowed. This system is a fantastic method to earn currency while sharpening your combat skills.
Where to Find Bounties
Once you move beyond the Northreach Fort area, primarily designed as a tutorial, you’ll enter the main map of the Living Lands. Each significant region features a key settlement, with Paradis representing Dawnshore. To discover bounties in this region, you need to check out these settlements.
While exploring, look for multiple exclamation marks on the minimap. This indicates the bounty board, where you can find up to five bounties for each region. Simply accept the bounties, and they will automatically be added to your quest list.
Bounty targets remain on the map, even if you haven’t accepted them from the board, allowing for spontaneous battles.
How to Find Bounty Targets
Once you’ve taken on a bounty, you can reference your map to locate your target. Look for a special blue symbol surrounded by a circle to indicate the area. Hovering over each target will reveal the specific bounty associated with it. Most targets can be found above ground, but some may be hidden in caves or require following specific paths to reach them. Generally, pinpointing each bounty’s location is quite straightforward. Once located, be prepared to confront multiple foes, with the main target displaying its health bar at the top of the screen.
When engaging these bounties, it’s highly advisable to take out healers first, as they can severely decrease your damage effectiveness on the main target.
Avowed Bounty Rewards
While it may be tempting to overlook bounties in Avowed since they won’t impede your progress unless you visit specific locations, it’s wise not to ignore them. In the initial area, you can earn 500 currency for each defeated target, with the reward increasing as you advance to new regions.
However, currency isn’t the only reward. Most bounties grant unique weapons, armor, clothing, or accessories upon defeat. You might even receive multiple exclusive items from some targets, making it essential to loot every fallen opponent. After completing all bounties in a specific area, return to the individual near the bounty board to retrieve another unique item as a bonus reward.
