Trash Bear is a recent character introduced in Stardew Valley’s update 1.4. This NPC primarily focuses on cleaning the valley by picking up litter. However, you need to complete his quest to enable him to tidy up the messes scattered throughout Stardew Valley.

This guide will outline everything you need to know about Trash Bear, including his location, the requirements for completing his quest, and the rewards you’ll receive for your efforts.

Finding Trash Bear in Stardew Valley

Trash Bear won’t make an appearance until you reach Year 3 in Stardew Valley. Once Year 3 arrives, wait for the first non-rainy day of the year. If the year begins with rain, simply wait for it to clear up.

You can find Trash Bear located in the Cindersap Forest. Head into the forest near Marnie’s Ranch, where you will see a wooden bridge leading to a small island. From there, head south toward a sewer grate to find the bear.

Completing Trash Bear’s Quest

When you interact with Trash Bear, a thought bubble will appear above his head, revealing a specific item he wants you to find. You’ll need to gather a total of four items: two foraged items and two cooked dishes.

Keep in mind that the items he requests will change with the seasons and may vary for each player. Once you’ve delivered the two foraged items, bring him the two cooked meals. After you complete this task, Trash Bear will start playing his flute and magically fly away.

Rewards for Completing the Quest

Once Trash Bear flies off, he initiates a series of cleanups throughout Stardew Valley. These cleanups are purely aesthetic and don’t yield any bonus items or quests. After completing his quest, Trash Bear will:

  • Pick up trash near Pam’s house.
  • Collect litter around the sewer grate.
  • Enhance the doghouse next to the Stardrop Saloon.

After finalizing these three tasks, the bear will disappear for good.
