During your adventures in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll encounter a variety of communities. Different towns and settlements are filled with people who offer quests and stories to discover. Some residents even know folks from neighboring areas, creating a sense of interconnectedness.
However, not all groups share a friendly relationship. One notable conflict is between the towns of Tachov and Zhelejov. A long-standing disagreement over a pasture has led to deep-seated animosity between the two communities. Over the years, they have caused each other considerable trouble, and when you arrive, they invite you to jump into the fray.
How to Start the Mice Quest
To kick off the Mice questline, make your way to Tachov, a small town located north of Troskowitz. Look for Prochek, the town innkeeper, who is key to starting this quest.
Prochek manages the inn on the northern side of town. If he’s not outside, check inside one of the rooms.
Talk to Prochek and mention the Zhelejovites. He’ll request your assistance in playing a prank on Olbram, a Zhelejov resident, as revenge for a past incident.
The Mice questline runs parallel to the Frog questline given by Olbram in Zhelejov. Only one of these quests can be active at a time. If you start one quest, you will fail the other, so be sure to finish one before taking on the other.
Agree to help Prochek prank Olbram by painting his prized white bull to officially begin the quest. Prochek instructs you to acquire paint and sleeping potions for the task.
You can buy the paint from the tailor in Troskowitz. Just ask him about it, and he’ll provide the price. You have two options: you can either pay him in groschen or use your charisma to convince him that it’s too costly. If successful, he’ll give you the paint for free.
How to Get Sleeping Potion
The sleeping potion you need is called the Lullaby potion. You’ll require three of these potions to ensure the bull falls asleep.
First, you need to get the potion recipe. Radovan, the blacksmith in Tachov, can provide it. His forge is located across from the inn, and he’ll be working there during the day. At night, he’s at home right behind the forge.
To obtain the Lullaby potion recipe from Radovan, you must have completed The Blacksmith’s Son quest.
Initiate a conversation with Radovan and express that you need a recipe for something to calm animals. He’ll share the ingredients and instructions you’ll need to create the potion.
You can use the alchemy table available in the shed near the apothecary’s shop in Troskowitz.
Once you have both the paint and the Lullaby potion, head over to Zhelejov to execute the prank on Olbram.
How to Sneak In to Paint Olbram’s Bull
In Zhelejov, find the area where they keep the bulls, specifically a small barn on the northern side of town. Inside, look for the trough, which should be on the left side from the entrance.
Keep in mind that the barn is private property, so you’ll need to sneak in when nobody is watching.
You should add the potion to the trough during the day, allowing Olbram’s bull to drink it and fall asleep by nightfall. When the time is right, pour the Lullaby potion into the trough.
After that, wait until night to paint the bull. There are two methods to approach this: either stay hidden in the barn until nightfall or sneak out and return later. If you decide to leave, remember that you can’t re-enter during the night for any reason.
When you return to Zhelejov after nightfall, avoid alerting patrolling guards or townsfolk. There will be a guard stationed near the barn entrance, so be careful not to attract his notice.
Patrol patterns can change, so always be cautious and avoid getting caught in the open.
You might also consider distracting the guard by tossing rocks to draw him away or sneaking in from the opposite side. If you’re stealthy enough, he won’t see you.
Once you are by the sleeping white bull, interact with him. You’ll be given three options for the design to paint. Choose your preferred design and get to work on your artistic prank.
Once you finish painting, you need to exit the barn quietly. Move carefully to the left to make your getaway. After leaving, you can fast travel to a different location to avoid any unwanted attention.
Finally, return to Prochek to share your success and wrap up the quest.
