PS5 owners can now enjoy a highly praised 2025 Capcom action RPG for free through the PlayStation Store. Capcom has released a substantial single-player demo for Monster Hunter Wilds that’s accessible to all users and doesn’t require a PS Plus subscription.

Free Demo for Chapters 1-3 of Monster Hunter Wilds Available on PS Store

The Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue demo provides players with the opportunity to explore up to the third chapter offline. It offers full access to the character creator and all weapons, with the ability to carry your save data into the full game.

In addition, the full version of Monster Hunter Wilds has been relisted now that Capcom has retired some earlier editions. The standard edition is priced at just $39.99, while the Gold Edition—which includes all add-ons—is available for $79.99.

Capcom provided the following instructions for those starting the demo today:

  • Save Data Transfer: You don’t need to finish the demo to transfer your progress to the full game.
  • Progress Carryover: Achievements earned during the demo can be carried over when importing the save into the complete version.
  • Trophy Unlocking: Some trophies related to awards may require completing specific quests again in the full game, even if you’ve unlocked them in the demo.
