In Metaphor: ReFantazio, most of the many activities can be completed during the day. However, similar to Atlus’ Persona series, you also have nighttime options to explore. So, what can you do when night falls and your daytime tasks are behind you?
There are plenty of choices available, ensuring you won’t run out of things to do. To help you navigate your nighttime options, we’ve compiled a list of activities that are specifically available at night. Here’s what we’ve uncovered!
Special Followers
Two of the key Followers in Metaphor: ReFantazio, Brigitta and Alonzo, tend to appear mostly at night. In fact, Brigitta is almost exclusively a nighttime character.
Other Followers, including some party members, may also be available at night; however, some will require you to engage in evening-specific activities at least once.
Brigitta is particularly crucial, as focusing on her during the night is one of the best ways to utilize your time in Metaphor. Make her a priority, and you’ll quickly advance through the various levels of interaction.
Engaging in Royal Virtue Activities
Many Royal Virtue activities can be done both day and night, but some are only available after sunset.
You’ll have ample chances to boost your Royal Virtues during the day, but since your daytime options are often limited by other pursuits, nighttime is typically the ideal time for these tasks. Here are a few activities to consider:
- Enjoying the cityscape views
- Giving eloquent speeches
- Taking part in the test of courage in Martira
- Learning tribal history from marked NPCs
Nighttime at the Coliseum
Unlike many other attractions in Metaphor, you can participate in coliseum matches both during the day and at night. However, it’s often more strategic to spend your nights in the coliseum, where there are fewer distractions.
To move up through the coliseum ranks and earn its various rewards, expect to engage in roughly ten matches, assuming you win them all.
Always save before entering a match to avoid losing precious evening time!
You’ll gain access to the coliseum after completing the events in Brilehaven, and it will be open most nights (and days) afterward.
Camping Out
If you’re traveling on the Gauntlet Runner and your destination requires at least a full day to reach, you’ll need to camp at various rest stops along your journey.
Camping is more than just resting; during these evenings, you have several productive options:
- Spend quality time with allies to enhance your Royal Virtues or advance their Follower Ranks
- Engage in activities like gardening, reading, or washing clothes, which are all beneficial
If you look at our accompanying screenshot, you’ll see Eupha asking to talk during your next trip.
Enjoying Plays or Relaxing at the Hot Springs
This section focuses on the late-game content in Metaphor. After you complete your tasks in Altabury, you’ll have the chance to watch various plays at the local opera house. Each performance enhances a specific Royal Virtue and is worth seven points!
There are few, if any, better ways to maximize each Royal Virtue than this.
As you progress further into the game, you’ll encounter a side quest in Altabury related to the hot springs. During early October, you’ll be asked by an NPC to visit the hot springs and retrieve a vial of spring water.
Once that quest is complete, you can spend your nights at the hot springs to improve the protagonist’s stats using various bath salts. This process is similar to bathing on the Gauntlet Runner, but without the need for travel time!
