The adorable and inviting cooperative MMO, Palia, has launched a significant new expansion featuring a fresh area called the Elderwood. Players can explore this zone packed with exciting activities, including new critters to track down, an abundance of palium ore, and a host of new quests. With the game’s availability on consoles, many newcomers are curious about the location of this eerie new environment.
The world of Palia consists of various zones, with Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay being the main areas until now. The Elderwood offers a much larger space with new stables to unlock and additional resources to gather for crafting. Finding the entrance to the Elderwood is quite straightforward, provided you know where to look, allowing you to jump into the new content quickly.
How to Access the Elderwood in Palia
Accessing the New Zone Is Simple
You can find the entrance to the Elderwood in the northern part of Bahari Bay, specifically in grid B2. To get there from your home plot, take the northern exit using the mine cart, which will transport you to The Outskirts stable fast travel point. From this point, it’s just a quick trip north, following the edge of the map to reach the Elderwood entrance.
An alternative route is available from Bahari Bay’s Central Stables. Here, you’ll need to head northwest as if you’re going to Tamala’s house. When you arrive, you’ll notice a large door that’s slightly ajar, surrounded by some unusual purple plants not typically found in Bahari Bay. Approaching the door will initiate the transition to the Honeymiel Slope area of the Elderwood.
Is the Elderwood Accessible to New Players?
The Enchanted Forest Welcomes All
All players can explore the Elderwood, irrespective of their experience or quest progress. However, gathering resources in the new zone requires higher-quality equipment, specifically achieving level six in relevant skills. There are numerous small exploration quests designed to keep newcomers engaged in the Elderwood, often starting by interacting with villagers or exploring the environment.
Completion of the Night Sky Temple Bundles isn’t necessary to start quests in the Elderwood.
The main questline in the Elderwood continues the overarching story of Palia. To meet with Subira, you must finish eight prerequisite quests, including all the Vault quests and ensuring Subira is in the village. If you’ve completed the main story quests leading up to this point, a captivating new cinematic will play as a mysterious figure unleashes a torrent of Flow into the Elderwood.
The essential main story quests to complete are:
- ‘Vault of the Waves’
- ‘Vault of the Flames’
- ‘Vault of the Gales’
- ‘Vault of the Roots’
- ‘Troubled Waters’
- ‘Into the Fire’
- ‘Up in the Air’
- ‘Rooted In Place’
The Elderwood is expansive, featuring a significantly larger map than both Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay. Additionally, new gameplay mechanics, such as relics, shrines, and a novel decor set, can be unlocked purely through exploration. The game has undergone various adjustments as well, including refinements to mining nodes, fishing, and clearer guidance for new players when they start the game.
