As Slitterhead approaches its climax, the game intensifies with a series of exciting boss battles, shifting away from the usual mission format. These encounters offer a refreshing change and provide a greater level of challenge, keeping players engaged throughout the experience. While they don’t become overly complicated, the diversity in boss fights is a welcome addition after many hours of gameplay.
One such mission is called Undying Scorn, where Alex faces off against Lisa. This battle triggers her transformation into a wild Slitterhead, unleashing a flurry of strange attacks that can be tricky to avoid. The encounter takes place in an impressive arena, making it one of the standout boss fights in the game!
Undying Scorn Walkthrough in Slitterhead
In the Undying Scorn mission, you’ll primarily take control of Alex, so make sure he’s your main Rarity. You can only change your Companion Rarity. We highly recommend using Edo. By now, it might sound repetitive, but his damage output and skills are hard to overlook in this encounter.
Julee isn’t an option here, so consider going with Anita, Tri, or Doni if you’re not a fan of how Edo plays. However, Edo’s Burning Edge Skill significantly enhances your chances in this battle, dramatically increasing your damage and helping you chip away at Lisa’s health with ease!
Lisa – Mimic Octopus Slitterhead: Phase One Guide
At the start of the fight, utilize Alex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo, then swiftly switch to your Companion Rarity. Begin landing standard attacks on Lisa until she retaliates. She’s likely to teleport around the arena and unleash several Blood Orbs at you. Dodge between these orbs to avoid getting hit.
If you picked Edo, activate his Burning Edge to deal a massive amount of damage in a short time. This can easily stagger her, allowing you to unleash a flurry of uninterrupted attacks. Generally, she will stagger once her health dips past the first quarter on the gauge.
After recovering from being staggered, Lisa will glow with a green aura that spreads outwards. Touching this aura will inflict you with a potent Level Two Poison that steadily drains your health.
She will also summon a number of weaker Slitterheads, which you should prioritize eliminating. Once they’re dealt with, use Alex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo again, followed by Edo’s Burning Edge and Angel Step combo (or your Companion’s equivalent).
Be aware of her Blood Ray attack, which sends a straight column of Blood out in front of her that can cause significant damage. Keep repeating this strategy until her health falls to just past halfway, signaling the start of the next phase!
Lisa – Mimic Octopus Slitterhead: Phase Two Guide
After a brief cutscene, Lisa enters the second phase by casting a Deady Fog Spell that will instantly curse all humans in the vicinity, killing them after a minute and twenty seconds. Thankfully, staggering her will cancel this curse, so that’s your top priority.
Use Blood Well to immobilize her, follow it up with Burning Edge, and unleash a barrage of attacks on the body hanging from her back. Hitting this weak spot will quickly stagger her and significantly reduce her health. If this doesn’t work at first, be patient and try again to ensure a stagger on your next attempt.
You can also quickly switch to the character behind her for some free hits while waiting for Blood Well to recharge. Once she’s staggered, repeat the Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo, and finish her off with your Companion Rarity to wrap up this phase easily.
The main threat in this phase is the curse timer; she won’t gain any new attacks but will become more aggressive. Stick to your previous strategy for dodging her strikes, and focus on her back when you can to take her down swiftly!
Undying Scorn Rewards
Successfully defeating Lisa – Mimic Octopus Slitterhead for the first time in the Undying Scorn mission rewards you with 24 Skill Tokens that can be allocated to any upgrades you prefer. Keep in mind that these tokens are shared among all Rarities, so using them on one will limit their availability for the others.
By defeating her, you’ll also unlock new ‘Talk’ encounters. Make sure to engage with these to open up more missions, getting you closer to finishing Slitterhead!
