Destiny 2’s Dawning event introduces a new title for players to achieve: Star Baker. This title is relatively easy to obtain for casual gamers, as it involves baking treats for NPCs and eliminating PvE enemies using snowballs. Like the other event titles this year, you can gild this title if you’re up for completing a few more Triumphs.
The great news is that gilding Star Baker is incredibly simple. Most Triumph goals are retroactive, meaning you won’t spend an excessive amount of time on them. If you’re aiming for the Star Baker title, we highly suggest gilding it before the Dawning event wraps up. This guide will walk you through the four gilding Triumphs for Star Baker, along with some tips and tricks to help you complete it in just a few hours.
Every gilded Triumph retroactively counts toward your Star Baker base Triumphs. For example, all snowball kills needed for Star Baker also contribute to the gilded “Frozen Doom” Triumph.
Last Updated December 29, 2024, by Charles Burgar: While the requirements for gilding Star Baker haven’t changed much this year, we’ve refined the guide with better formatting and updated tips for the final Triumph.
Frozen Doom
Defeat enemies using Snowballs.
Frozen Doom is probably the most time-consuming Triumph. You’ll need to take down 300 foes with snowballs during this Dawning event. The upside is that if you’ve already achieved the Star Baker title, you’ll only need to get 100 additional kills, as you’ve likely already secured 200 snowball kills along the way. A good strategy would be to jump into Vanguard Ops and keep an eye out for snowballs; finishing this should be a breeze.
Reason For The Season
Gift treats to vendors during the Dawning event.
For this Triumph, you need to gift 100 treats to vendors. However, once you earn the Star Baker title, this requirement often drops to 50. A good way to stock up on Chitin Powder is by farming Altars of Sorrow or the first encounter in Grasp of Avarice. After that, craft as many treats as you can. Using Arc subclasses and weapons will help you gather enough materials to create Etheric Coldsnaps.
Joyous Spirit
Spend Dawning Spirit during the event.
You will need to use a total of 500 Dawning Spirit throughout the event, though this value will likely be closer to 120 if you’ve already bought all of the Dawning upgrades necessary for the title. If you’re new to the Dawning event, your best bet for earning Dawning Spirit is through Eva Levante’s bounties and by donating treats.
Every cookie you give to NPCs will reward you with three Dawning Spirit each, meaning you’ll have to create about 40 cookies to fulfill this challenge. Since needing to bake 100 treats is already part of gilding the title, achieving Joyous Spirit should be quite manageable.
If you’ve participated in previous Dawning events, you can rebuild the Starfarer 7M ship from Season 12. This ship frequently drops Dawning Spirit when you gather ingredients, allowing you to accumulate lots of Dawning Spirit just by playing. Be sure to spend it on Eva’s weapon focusing options.
Cheerful Destruction
Eliminate enemies using Dawning weapons.
For Cheerful Destruction, you need to take down 500 foes using Dawning weapons. There’s no other Triumph that requires this form of elimination, so you may reach the total of 500 kills needed as you go for gilding Star Baker. Fortunately, most of the weapons available in this year’s Dawning event are quite effective. You can choose Avalanche for easy PvE kills, Stay Frosty for a reliable Primary weapon, or Albedo Wing if you prefer not to worry about ammunition.
For accomplishing the kills, consider engaging with the Shuro Chi checkpoint in the Last Wish raid, farming Altars of Sorrow on the Moon, or battling infinitely-respawning Hive during the introductory encounter in Grasp of Avarice.
