Walkthrough for the Sophia Fight

The battle is divided into three distinct phases, each featuring different mechanics.
Phase 1
The fight kicks off with Sophia executing several attacks and maneuvers.
Attack Name |
Type |
Details |
---|---|---|
Aero III |
Point blank AoE/Knockback |
Sophia inflicts damage in the area around her, causing a knockback. Step outside the AoE marker to avoid this attack. |
Thunder III |
Ring AoE |
This attack deals damage in a large circular area, but there’s a safe spot either within Sophia’s hitbox or near the arena’s edges. Move quickly to dodge Thunder III by heading towards or away from her. |
Light Dew |
Line AoE |
Sophia will send Daughter, her head mount, to shoot a laser in a line AoE, dealing damage and applying Vulnerability Up. As Daughter appears, look for the attack and adjust your position to avoid it. |
Quasar |
Proximity AoE |
Sophia will create proximity AoEs in the center of the arena that inflict more damage the closer you are. Move away from the center to lessen the impact of Quasar. |
Onrush |
Line AoE |
Sophia becomes untargetable, then quickly reappears at either the eastern or western edges of the arena before charging forward, causing damage in a line AoE and applying Vulnerability Up. Pay attention to where she reappears and adjust accordingly to dodge. |
Cintamani |
Roomwide AoE |
This attack deals unavoidable damage to the entire party. Use AoE healing to recover. |
Thunder II |
Conal AoE |
Sophia inflicts damage in a cone in front of her and causes Electrocution, resulting in damage over time. Stay clear of the AoE marker to avoid it. |
When Sophia drops to 70 percent health, she teleports to the northern edge of the arena and casts Cloudy Heavens, marking the start of the second phase.
Phase 2
Cloudy Heavens places all players under the effect of Eternal Doom, which will convert them into mindless zombies that attack their allies when the timer runs out.
Simultaneously, Sophia summons the First, Second, and Third Demiurges. Defeating these enemies will remove the Eternal Doom. It’s advised to target the Second Demiurge first since it can heal the other two with Cure II.
The Second Demiurge also performs Divine Spark, a Gaze attack inflicting Confused if you look at it as the cast concludes. Avoid this by turning away from the enemy.
Among the demiurges, the Third is particularly dangerous due to its capability of creating an ice puddle on the arena floor that inflicts damage and Frostbite. Ideally, one tank should maneuver the Third Demiurge to a corner of the arena until it produces its puddle, then return it to the rest of the team.
Eliminating the last Demiurge triggers Sophia to use The Scales of Wisdom, tipping the arena in one direction, dealing damage to all players and removing the arena’s railings.
Phase 3
In the third phase, you can now fall off the edge of the arena, so tread carefully.
During this phase, Sophia uses similar attacks as in the first phase but with some notable changes.
Attack Name |
Type |
Details |
---|---|---|
Quasar |
Knockback |
Sophia will connect to one of the scales on either side of the arena, causing a meteor to fall and tilt the arena. Run to the opposite side to prevent being knocked off. Subsequent uses will also include proximity AoE from the prior phase; shift accordingly to mitigate damage while avoiding falls. |
Cintamani |
Roomwide AoE |
This attack will now execute twice consecutively. |
Sin and Punishment |
Special |
Players will be marked with either a white or black circle. After a moment, it will deal damage and apply Bleeding. Pair up with someone marked with the opposite color to negate the damage and debuff. |
When Sophia is at low health, she will summon one of the three Demiurges again. If her health is sufficiently low, you can opt to ignore the add and focus on Sophia. Alternatively, it might be beneficial to eliminate the Demiurge to ease the rest of the fight.
Sophia will cycle through these attacks, along with previous ones from phase one, until she is ultimately defeated. Maintaining awareness of your positioning in this last phase is crucial, as falling off the edge will instantly lead to your demise.
