If you’re seeking another way to showcase your abilities in Pokemon TCG Pocket, you’re in luck! The SP Emblem Event has returned, offering you a chance to earn another PVP emblem for your profile. Just like last time, it’s both rewarding and occasionally frustrating!
This time around, the SP Emblem Event requires you to maintain a winning streak instead of simply accumulating a set number of wins. With matches decided by coin flips affecting some of the top decks in a best-of-one format, it can be a bit tricky, but we’re here to help!
What Is the Mythical Island SP Emblem Event?
The Mythical Island SP Emblem Event is a PVP competition lasting for a week, from January 20 to January 27, 2025. During this time, you can earn new emblems for your profile, along with Shinedust and Pack Hourglasses.
In contrast to Pokemon GO, events in Pokemon TCG Pocket do not align with your local time. They kick off and wrap up at midnight Central Time, meaning the start and end times can vary by a few hours based on your location.
This event offers four new emblems to display on your profile, which you can earn by achieving consecutive victories in Event Matches.
Since this event relies on winning streaks, your progress resets after a loss. While some players may clinch an emblem in just five matches, others might feel frustrated when they lose their fourth or fifth match and have to start again.
If emblems aren’t your priority, but you still want Pack Hourglasses and Shinedust, you can complete missions that don’t require participating in Event Matches to earn both.
Missions and Rewards for the Mythical Island SP Emblem Event
The main attraction of the Mythical Island SP Emblem Event is the new PVP emblems awarded for winning two to five consecutive battles. You can showcase these emblems on your profile to impress friends and foes alike.
There are four new emblems available, each requiring a longer winning streak to achieve than the last.

Tips for the Mythical Island SP Emblem Event
Given how much of the game relies on coin flips, trying to secure a winning streak can feel largely like a gamble. Even the best deck won’t guarantee victory if the essential Stage 1 Pokemon is at the bottom of your deck.
You can increase your chances of success by staying informed about the current meta. Popular decks like Pikachu ex and Charizard ex are still in play, but the rise of Gyarados ex and Celebi ex has made these choices less common. Knowing how to counter these popular decks is essential.
During our eight games to secure the gold emblem, we faced two Celebi ex decks, two Pikachu ex variants, and one each of Charizard ex and Gyarados ex. These four decks made up about 75% of all the decks we encountered.
Using decks that can consistently win against these top meta choices increases your likelihood of achieving a five-win streak. So, consider building a deck that has a favorable match-up against one or more of these options. The Arcanine ex archetype, for instance, fares well against Celebi ex and has a solid win rate against Pikachu ex. Some data also suggests that Geninja and Aerodactyl ex are worthwhile components.
Additionally, pay attention to when you battle: we’ve noticed greater success in PVP events at the beginning, as players are testing new and lesser-known decks, and again near the end when the more proficient players have already completed the event and moved on.
Delaying your participation to farm wins against players who haven’t earned a five-win streak yet can be risky. It reduces your opportunity to restart if you interrupt your ongoing streak.
Above all, try to keep your cool. If a loss leads to frustration, you’re more likely to make mistakes, such as attaching Energy to the wrong Pokemon or misusing an item when you didn’t intend to retreat.
If you tend to get frustrated easily, keep a close eye on your emotions, and if you start feeling upset, take a brief break to engage in another activity. This can help clear your mind before you get back to the game!
