The central quests of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 lead Hans and Henry on an unexpected adventure. Following the Fortuna quest, their situation worsens as they are now seen as beggars, especially since their clothes reflect that lifestyle.
Under these conditions, neither can afford to complain, forcing them into a challenging existence in the town of Troskowitz. With Hans being a noble and somewhat pampered, the situation will take another downturn. This guide will help you navigate the Laboratores quest smoothly.
Talk to the Beautiful Woman
Do you remember the beautiful woman Henry tried to rescue from the pond? She appears here and might look like a way back on track, but sadly, that’s not the case. After chatting with Hans, approach her to strike up a conversation.
When you get close, she’ll be a bit blunt about Henry’s odor. Shortly after, the innkeeper will suggest that you wash up. You’ll find a washing spot nearby, so go ahead and clean up; afterward, try talking to her once more.
While the two women chat, wait for them to finish. Once they’re done, start a conversation with Katherine, the woman dressed in blue. Unfortunately, this exchange may not go as you planned, as Katherine will firmly decline to acknowledge any previous encounter at the pond.
Most dialogue options will lead to the same disappointing outcome, except for one related to Henry’s speech skill. If you choose to use that skill on her, your standing with her will decrease, so it’s wiser to avoid that choice.
At this point, the innkeeper will provide Katherine with the wine she came for. When that’s finished, Henry will speak to her again, this time with a more persuasive approach, and manage to extract some information. She will mention a significant wedding event coming up, which will be your only chance to talk to Lord von Bergow.
Discover the Wedding and Complete Some Tasks
After you finish talking with Katherine, it’s essential to gather more information about the wedding. Luckily, the innkeeper has his ear to the ground and will provide some intriguing details. Once Katherine leaves, the innkeeper will approach you with a request to work in exchange for the meal you had.
Accept the offered work, allowing you to ask her questions about the wedding. You’ll discover that it will be held at Fort Semine and is between Lord Olda Semine and Agnes Thrush.
Attendance is by invitation only, with only a few selected guests receiving invites. With this new knowledge, head back to Hans to share the news. He’ll be initially excited but his enthusiasm will quickly fade upon realizing they’ll need to work to gain entry.
To learn more about the wedding, you can speak to Svatya Thrush, the bride’s brother and a nobleman. He will invite you to play a game of dice and promises to reward you with a wedding invite if you win, but he’s not being truthful, so it’s best to dismiss him. A more reliable way to gain entry is by talking to the Miller or the Blacksmith.
Hans will refuse to help with any chores, leaving you to shoulder the responsibility, so try to maintain your reputation with him. Now it’s time to carry some sacks to the pantry. Head to the nearby wagon, grab a sack, and deliver it to the pantry. Fun, right? Just repeat this two more times, and you’ll be done.
After transporting three sacks, go outside to trigger a cutscene where Hans gets into a heated argument with Svatya. You can attempt to mediate, but it won’t help, so support Hans to improve your standing.
Get Involved in the Brawl
After the argument concludes, a brawl will break out, and you’ll need to put in the effort to defeat four opponents. You’ll be fighting barehanded, but the strategy remains similar. Focus on executing perfect blocks and landing solid punches.
Once you’ve taken them down, both Hans and Henry will end up in trouble again. As things escalate, Hans will unjustly turn on Henry. Regardless of what you say, it won’t change the outcome, so it’s important to express your feelings before it all ends.
When they get released from confinement, Hans will still be irritable and walk off angrily. This situation, however, works in your favor as you’re now free and can take on whatever you choose, but be prepared for challenges ahead.
