To fully utilize your combat capabilities, it’s essential to know how to collect and effectively use these Runes. This guide will cover how to obtain Runes and how to integrate them into your gear.

How to Obtain Runes

You can primarily gain Runes in Rune Slayer by defeating various enemies and bosses. Each Rune offers a unique enhancement, and tougher foes provide more impressive Rune effects. Bosses are the best source of high-level Runes, making them essential targets in your quest. While every enemy has a chance to drop at least one Rune, you’ll find both standard and Lesser Runes, with the latter giving smaller stat boosts.

Additinally, there are Great Runes that can be obtained from specific enemies. For instance, you need to defeat wolves to acquire the Wolf Rune. Most Runes are earned through combat, but there are a few other ways to gather them:

Buy them from the NPC Father Matthias.
Trade Demon Hearts with the Ancient Demon for Runes.
Complete Player Bounties assigned by Lysander.

These alternative methods allow you to earn Runes without solely relying on battles. While certain resources or tasks might be needed, these options can be beneficial especially if you’re having trouble obtaining a specific Rune. Some methods might be more time-consuming, yet they provide a dependable way to bolster your equipment and enhance your character’s abilities.

How to Use Runes

The Blacksmith is seen in the Wayshire area of Rune Slayer.

Once you have collected Runes, you can install them into your weapons and armor. Just visit the Blacksmith in Wayshire, talk to the Blacksmith NPC, and open the menu. Here, you can select the item you want to enhance and then choose the Rune to install it. This service costs 20 Silver for each Rune.

Be aware that once a Rune is added to an item, it cannot be removed or swapped, so choose carefully.
