Fortune & Colors is an exciting limited-time event happening in Marvel Rivals, offering players the chance to earn complimentary rewards by engaging in a new game mode. Celebrating the Spring Festival, this event features a variety of cosmetics available at no cost. Similar to previous events, players will need to achieve specific objectives during Fortune & Colors to unlock all the goodies on offer.
The Fortune & Colors event closely resembles the ongoing main event from Season 1, known as the Midnight Features event in Marvel Rivals. This event includes multiple tiers that can be completed through various missions, and it’s expected that Fortune & Colors will follow a similar tier-based structure, with a unique character skin serving as the standout reward for both events.
Fortune & Colors Start and End Dates
Join In While You Can!
The Fortune & Colors event kicks off on January 23, 2025, and wraps up on February 14, 2025. This Spring Festival will take place around the midpoint of Season 1, with characters like Human Torch and The Thing anticipated to join alongside their Fantastic Four allies.

You’ll be able to participate in this event over several weeks, as long as you log into the game. However, note that you’ll need to apply an update on January 22, 2025, which will introduce various bug fixes and make adjustments to some characters. Similar to the significant Season 1 patch in Marvel Rivals, this update will address certain character ability bugs.
The bug fixes in the January 22 patch do not enhance or weaken any characters in Marvel Rivals. They strictly address specific issues, such as bugs affecting certain skills, movement, or unique transformations.
It’s important to note that the start and end dates for Fortune & Colors may not apply to event skins left in the Store. Just like during the Winter Festival, some themed skins might remain available for purchase long after the Spring Festival concludes. However, bundles for those skins will eventually disappear, unlike many cosmetics that stay in any Battle Pass you acquire.
Clash of Dancing Lions Mode & Rewards
Collect Danqing to Unlock Rewards
The Fortune & Colors event centers around a new mode called “Clash of Dancing Lions,” a soccer-like game where two teams of three players compete. Utilizing characters such as Star-Lord, Iron Fist, and Black Widow, the goal is to score as many points as possible in this engaging mode. The unique movement abilities of the characters will create dynamic and competitive matchups that will challenge teamwork and strategy.
Players familiar with the “Jeff’s Wintery Splash” event will find the reward system in Fortune & Colors somewhat familiar. To earn rewards, players must fulfill missions to collect a unique resource called Danqing, which is used to color a vibrant illustration. This mechanism is akin to collecting Gold and Silver Frost currencies during the previous Winter Festival event to fill a special postcard.

The amount of Danqing earned may depend on the specific goals completed within the Clash of Dancing Lions mode. For example, players might need to score a certain number of goals as Iron Fist to earn Danqing. This colorful resource unlocks two primary rewards:
- Clash of Dancing Lions Gallery Card
- Lion’s Mane (Star-Lord Skin)
The ultimate prize is the Star-Lord skin, a fresh appearance for the character that can be unlocked entirely for free. Similar to the free skin for Jeff the Land Shark from the last event, you’ll need to color different sections of the Clash of Dancing Lions illustration using Danqing to progress through the skin bundle. This includes a nameplate, emote, spray, and, ultimately, the skin itself available through reward tiers.
The Clash of Dancing Lions mode does not allow for earning the Black Widow or Iron Fist skins specifically tied to the Fortune & Colors event. These skins must be purchased with Units or Lattice in Marvel Rivals‘ in-game shop.
It’s possible to accomplish certain goals and collect Danqing in other modes, such as Quick Play or against AI matches. While not every reward from the Fortune & Colors Spring Festival event in Marvel Rivals requires playing Clash of Dancing Lions, participating in this new mode provides the quickest way to earn rewards.
