A widely-played Ubisoft action RPG is gearing up for its final free update on PS5, packed with new content including a story quest. The Assassin’s Creed Shadows update 1.1.11 is set to go live at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT and will be around 10 GB in size on the PS5.

New Free Story Quest: Black Tides
- Complete Naoe & Yasuke’s main storyline
- Finish the post-launch quest “A Critical Encounter”
- Conquer the post-launch puzzle quest “A Puzzlement”

New Crossover Projects: Riptides and Undertow
To activate these projects, players must complete Anomalies and advance through rewards as they did with previous releases.
New End-Game Feature: Domains
This novel Animus activity tests your RPG build skills through five new gameplay simulations across ten challenge levels.
Unlock requirement: Reach level 30
New Animus Rift: Horizon
The Eagle has more details to share about the Guide. Access to Horizon requires completing the two previous Animus Rifts.
Quality of Life Improvements
The main menu now better reflects how HUB features are accessed in gameplay, with the System menu available solely via the Shadows’ Memory page.
Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements:
- Increased damage for “Shurikens” from tools mastery upgrades “Bank Shot” and “Triple Threat.”
- Abilities that weaken enemy armor are now half as effective on bosses.
- Resolved an issue preventing the “weak point attacks from making enemies vulnerable again” engraving from unlocking.
- Fixed Yasuke’s knowledge bonus that provided damage reduction, which was previously ineffective.
- Enemies now sustain more fall damage from shorter heights.
- Damage reduction applied to “Poison Kunai” and “Explosive Grenades” thrown by enemies.
- Increased the seasonal cap for “Corrupted Castles” to six.
- Fixed Naoe’s “Katana Sheath” sticking to her model incorrectly.
User Interface Adjustments:
- The forge engraving lists were reorganized, adding a “Critical” category.
- Corrected perk categories and icon displays.
- Fixed display issues with perks such as “Damage when Hitting Vulnerable Enemies.”
- Clarified wording for Naoe’s “Peasant Hat” perk, which triggers below 1 adrenaline.
- Adjusted Yasuke’s “Damage with Combo Enders” to show correct values.
- Saviors and markers now persist across travels in Japan and Awaji.
Gear and Perk Revisions:
- Rebalanced perks based on adrenaline percentages, lowering their values.
- The “Whisper of Gold Long Katana” perk now increases ability damage by 100%.
- Corrected damage calculations for Naoe’s “Kusarigama” bleed trigger.
- Fixed inventory issues with the “Blade of Yumminess.”
- Allowed “Teppo” and “Bow” weapons to be engraved with armor damage and piercing perks.
- Corrected engraving issues with the “Arrownomics Bow” and “Golden Chamber Teppo” perks on amulets.
- Adjusted perk triggers for Naoe’s “Ethereal Cloth Headgear” and armor perks on Naoe and Yasuke, including health conditions and death rewards.
- Fixed perks related to consecutive kills resetting improperly or not working when damaged.
- Ensured perks with “backstab” conditions are exclusively on Tanto weapons, and other condition-specific perks are placed correctly.
Story and Quest Fixes:
- Addressed progression issues in “Gather Mon.”
- Fixed bugs in “Way of the Blacksmith,” ensuring Heji remains available.
- Corrected teleportation bugs in “Lost and Found” involving Sentinel B-Ser.0197.
