In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, some of the best weapons can be quite costly or tough to locate. Because of this, you’ll want to try crafting them at a Smithy occasionally. For many crafting recipes, deer skin is an essential material, but unlike herbs and flowers, you can’t just find it lying around on the ground.
To obtain deer skin, you have a couple of options: either purchase it or gather it yourself. However, not all merchants carry deer skin, and those that do may not always be easy to find. You’ll need to know where to look.
Where to Buy Deer Skin
You can typically buy deer skin from saddlers and cobblers, as they use it to craft various items. Keep in mind that not all of them sell deer skin, so you’ll need to find the right vendor.
You can purchase deer skin for around 14 Groschen from Saddler Matthew at Trosky Castle or the Cobbler in Kuttenberg City. If you negotiate well, you might be able to get it for about 10 Groschen each.
Saddler Matthew may appear as a Cobbler on the map, but once you approach him in his shop, you’ll find that he is indeed a Saddler.
Where to Find Deer Skin
If you prefer, you can also obtain deer skin directly from deer. Deer are commonly found in wooded areas and can be seen marked with a deer icon on the world map.
A good hunting spot is located in the woods between Zhelejov and Troskowitz in the Trosky region, as well as west of Devil’s Den in the Kuttenberg region. To collect deer skin, follow these steps:
- Head to the area where deer are usually found.
- Use a bow or crossbow to shoot the deer.
- Carve the deer’s carcass with your knife to collect the skin.
Be aware that hunting animals is viewed as a crime in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, so make sure you are not seen while you’re hunting and skining the deer.
Once you have the deer skin, you can use it for any crafting recipes that require it.
