In Infinity Nikki, there are numerous side quests, but the “Forced Perspective” quests stand out as particularly challenging. In the quest titled “Forced Perspective: Capturing the Thief,” your task is to snap a photo that helps catch a crafty criminal. You’ll be using Momo’s camera to create an optical illusion by positioning yourself at the right angle. Unfortunately, the game’s sensitivity can be a bit off, making this quest more difficult than it initially appears.
The Forced Perspective quests are also featured in Infinity Nikki‘s Companion’s Day event, which honors the cute companions throughout Florawish. There are several activities to engage in, and “Capturing the Thief” is the second quest in the Forced Perspective series, so it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with its mechanics after you unlock it.

How to Unlock & Complete Forced Perspective: Capturing the Thief
Finish “Caged Bird,” Then Find Toran
Before you can tackle “Capturing the Thief,” you must first complete “Forced Perspective: Caged Bird,” the introductory quest in the Forced Perspective series in Infinity Nikki. This quest serves as a tutorial for the mechanics of the Forced Perspective challenges, helping players prepare for the subsequent quests.
The “Forced Perspective” quests share similarities with the “Photo Investigation” quests, but there are important differences that add to the complexity of the former.
After completing “Caged Bird,” seek out Toran near the Kingdom Guard’s Office. He’ll mention having difficulty with a quest and request Nikki’s assistance. Toran will explain that he needs help with capturing a criminal near the Guard’s Office but is unsure how to proceed. It’s up to Nikki and Momo to help him solve this puzzle.
To fulfill Toran’s request, you’ll need to locate the Thief Warrant Poster on the eastern side of the building. Position Nikki in front of the poster with the fence situated between her and the building, then activate the camera. Snap a photo that makes it appear as though the poster is “imprisoned” to satisfy the quest requirements.
Make sure to wait until you see the golden camera reticle before taking the shot, as this will ensure your picture is registered correctly.
If you’re having trouble getting the reticle to appear, switch to an f/16 aperture and disable Nikki, NPCs, and Eureka effects in the camera settings to achieve the clearest shot possible. It might take a few attempts to get the reticle to show up, but I eventually found success by setting the time on my Run, Pear Pal to 10:00—this worked for me.

While the “Forced Perspective” quests in Infinity Nikki may not be the most intricate, they can become frustrating if the camera doesn’t cooperate. Take your time to adjust Nikki’s position, and you’ll eventually capture the perfect shot. Once you complete this quest, countless new adventures await you, with even more content set to arrive in future updates.
