As you explore the expansive universe of No Man’s Sky, you’ll come across various resources, but few are as crucial as Tritium. This uncommon radioactive hydrogen isotope is essential for interstellar travel, whether you’re piloting your starship or managing a large frigate.
While locating Tritium can be straightforward, gathering it in large amounts can take time. This guide provides you with all the necessary information to efficiently collect Tritium and its future uses.
What Is Tritium?
Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen, represented by the chemical formula H3. In reality, naturally occurring tritium is quite rare, and most of it is produced artificially in nuclear reactors.
In No Man’s Sky, Tritium serves multiple purposes, including materials for bases and freighters, as well as fuel for your frigates. It’s scarce on planets, but fortunately, you can easily find substantial amounts of Tritium in space.
Where To Find Tritium
You can frequently find Tritium by shooting asteroids while piloting your ship. Asteroids are abundant in asteroid belts throughout solar systems, so you shouldn’t have any trouble locating them.
After entering an asteroid belt, start blasting away. Every asteroid you destroy will yield some Tritium along with other valuable materials like Gold, Silver, and Platinum.
Look for asteroids tagged as ‘Tritium Rich’ on your sensors, as these will yield larger quantities of Tritium and a higher likelihood of Tritium Hyperclusters.
A short time spent destroying asteroids can net you hundreds of Tritium. Continue your assault until you gather the amount you need. Your Photon Blaster is an excellent choice for this task due to its efficient fire rate and range.
Tritium Hyperclusters can give you even more Tritium. Simply break down the Hypercluster in your inventory for a bonus amount of Tritium.
Spending just a few minutes shooting asteroids can yield a considerable amount of Tritium. Keep going until you have everything you want. Your base Photon Blaster is well-suited for smashing asteroids, given its great range and fire rate.
Additionally, you can occasionally purchase Tritium at Galactic Trade Terminals. It may also appear in small amounts from rocky materials extracted from caves on planets or in the inventories of newly acquired starships or freighters.
Outlaw Stations typically have some Tritium available for sale, often in small quantities (around a few hundred units).
