In Stardew Valley, there are a total of 80 cooking recipes that you can discover and prepare, ranging from a simple fried egg to elaborate dishes that boost your energy. To learn new recipes, you typically need to watch “The Queen of Sauce” program or receive mail from certain villagers.
However, if you obtain the Queen of Sauce Cookbook, you’ll be able to learn every recipe you haven’t yet discovered from this culinary expert. The process to acquire the book is relatively straightforward, but there are specific steps you need to follow. This guide covers everything you need to know about obtaining the Queen of Sauce Cookbook.
Where to Find the Queen of Sauce Cookbook
The Queen of Sauce Cookbook can only be bought from the Bookseller for 50,000g. This NPC can be found in a raised area just north of Joja Mart, and they appear in town twice during each season, indicated on your map by a hot air balloon icon.
If you don’t have a calendar, don’t worry! You’ll receive a notification when you wake up that lets you know the bookseller is in town, and they are open all day.
There are certain criteria that must be met before the Queen of Sauce Cookbook will become available for purchase.
How to Unlock the Queen of Sauce Cookbook
To unlock the Queen of Sauce Cookbook at the Bookseller, you must locate at least 100 Golden Walnuts on Ginger Island. Here’s what you need to do:
- Complete the Main Story (either restore the Community Center or finish the Joja route).
- Repair Willy’s Boat.
- Travel to Ginger Island.
- Collect 100 Golden Walnuts.
This task is challenging, and the cookbook won’t be available until you complete the end-game objectives. Once you find those 100 Golden Walnuts, the Queen of Sauce Cookbook will be always available for 50,000g whenever the Bookseller is in town.
After you read the book, you’ll unlock the recipes for every dish from the Queen of Sauce that you haven’t learned yet. This won’t cover every recipe in the game, but it includes a significant portion of them. If you haven’t been keeping up with the cooking shows, this can be a valuable resource!
