A couple of highly anticipated PS5 games now have free demos available on the PlayStation Store, and we strongly recommend giving them a try. You can experience Darwin’s Paradox and Mina the Hollower for free before their scheduled releases in Spring 2026. No PS Plus subscription is required for these demos.
Darwin’s Paradox, developed by ZDT Studio and published by Konami, is a surprisingly innovative adventure game that shows a lot of promise. In the game, players take on the role of an octopus trapped inside an industrial complex, trying to find its way back home. The demo features Easter Eggs from a popular Konami franchise — you might already have an idea of which one.
“Set out on an epic sea journey fit for a true animated film, with Darwin, a charming and clever octopus,” an official description states. “He’s been ripped from the ocean and is now navigating a massive, mysterious industrial maze. Using his extraordinary intelligence and unique abilities, help him overcome dangerous traps and obstacles in this engaging puzzle-platformer.”
Mina the Hollower, developed by Yacht Club Games—best known for Shovel Knight—is an upcoming adventure title. In this game, players assume the role of Mina, tasked with rescuing a cursed island while battling various hazards and monsters along the way.
The free demo provides the first stage of the game, including the initial boss fight. After completing the demo, players can explore Mina the Hollower’s world, meet its characters, and discover more about the game’s story.
Darwin’s Paradox is set to launch on April 2. The release date for Mina the Hollower has not been announced yet.
