A new adventure game with a promising outlook is set to launch on the PS5 in 2026. Created by Maboroshi Artworks and published by Entalto, Sombras: Negative Frames is a story-driven game that incorporates photography mechanics to delve into themes such as youth, art, and family.
Set for release in December 2026, Sombras: Negative Frames is described as a nostalgic narrative title with light horror elements and an engaging photography system. The game follows Shiomi Alterio, a Japanese-Spanish photography student who must leave her European life behind and relocate to Japan after her parents’ divorce.
An official summary states, “One night, Shiomi is pulled into a dark dimension filled with familiar streets, hungry shadows, and a cast of girls resembling her….” Players must help Shiomi find her way back home by capturing photos of bizarre scenes, surviving eerie encounters, and piecing together her fractured identity. This is the second project from Maboroshi Artworks, who previously released the award-winning game Last Time I Saw You.
